College Football Predictions

Anyone watching football last weekend could see it plainly: the screams swelling at every pass, punt or hiked ball in college football games on Saturday, and the relative silence of the crowds on NFL's opening day on Sunday. The NFL isn't bad, but it sure isn't college football.

My relevant picks for the weekend.

Too bad ESPN is in Austin. Both Texas/Tech and Florida/Tenn games will be over at halftime, but the Florida/Kifkin matchup is farrrr more irresistible TV. Florida shuts out Tenn 42-0. I didn't see ANYthing from the Vols AT HOME vs UCLA to suggest they could be close, much less score.

Tech gets wiped out by Texas in boring, over-at-halftime game.
Fresno State beats Boise State tonight, 18-13.
Nebraska beats Virginia Tech on the road, 30-20
Oklahoma struggles big time with Tulsa, but wins ugly, 38-34
Florida State beats BYU and nonsense talk of Max Hall as Heisman candidate (based on double turnover game vs shellshocked, Bradford-less Oklahoma, who missed last-second FG for win) will end. Final 28-9
Arkansas beats Georgia at home. 7-6
Toledo will nearly beat Ohio State. 27-20

Well Robert it's only the third quarter and you still might end up correct on the victor (although I doubt it at 34 - 24 BSU), but the Boise State / Fresno State game certainly has more scoring than you predicted.
