Shuttle / Bus from Belize to San Ignacio in May

This has been asked and discussed several times, but the information seems old and subject to change. So, I wanted to ask again, especially to locals and those who have recently visited Belize.

What are the different shuttle / bus / group vehicle options to get from Belize airport to San Ignacio? I have heard that Cayo Tours does a shuttle for about $50 roundtrip. Anything else? I think the local bus with all the local stops will not be an option for us this time (because of timing and baggage).

Thanks!

If you can find a shuttle for $50 even one way then you had better take it. Sometimes your hotel will pick you up. You can rent a car. You can taxi to the bus station for $25US and take the next bus. Take an express not a local.

I don't know of any regular shuttle service from Belize airport, but there are some transfer services you could contact for prices ...

Thanks for your responses. Here is what I found with your help and on my own. I figured I would post it here as there does not seem to be any current information on this. If it helps someone like me, that's cool...

If you don't want to do the regular bus, you can contact one of these companies. All prices quoted are for a couple unless otherwise noted.

info@belizetransfers.com (Menzies Tours) - charge $350US for a roundtrip private transfer.
info@gettransfers.com (Get Transfers) - charge $250US for a private A/C van transfer.
pacztours@btl.net (Pacz tours) - charge $100 for a one-way transfer.
Eva's (evasbelize@aol.com) - charge $175BZ for 1-2 people, one-way
MayaWalk Tours - charge $30US per person if you have at least 4 people; $45 per person if only two people; one way
Cayo Tours (info@cayoadventure.com) - charge $55 pp roundtrip or $32 pp one way for a shared shuttle that operates three times a day (this is who I went with)

You can also try William's Shuttle. He's awesome! I've used him to get to Placencia, and it was a great ride. It went quick because he knows the area, and the local stories. His website is: http://www.parrot-nest.com/belize_shuttle.html

Cheers!
