volume trouble, using Limewire

Hi, I've been having problems with the volume on my Limewire recently. i can't get it to go higher than a low-sounding volume - even when i plug in my earbuds. I didn't have this problem before, it seems like it happened after I had my HP laptop serviced by a computer repair tech. It's driving me crazy not being able to turn up the volume on my favorite songs.

When I play a song, it comes up on the Windows Media Player. I noticed when i use WMP for other applications, like video clips that i find online the volume is just fine. It only seems to act funny when i use Limewire, but that's where i have my fave songs downloaded. (I don't use an MP3 player btw, but maybe I should). I'm kinda at a loss, maybe it's because I didn't download the latest version of Limewire? I don't know, any thoughts or suggestions for me?
Thanks, Greg

I guess you are using the limewire player, incorporated into the Limewire program.
I don't know how to change the volume on this; I don't use it. Prefer to let the default windows player for the file type play the music files. (In this case, WMP). If you want to do that, open Limewire, scroll through the options, and untick the checkbox that says "use Limewire player" (or words to that effect.)
Tried ringing the tech to see what he/she did?
