You should be fine in that area, as it's not particularly touristy. With regards your questions, I (politely) suggest you read some threads on the board. You don't mention your age (perfectly fine) or who you'll be travelling with, and if this is your first time abroad, etc. etc. so I'll assume it's not - if you take some of the usual precautions, you'll be fine. Don't worry - there is in my opinion a lot said about safety in Barcelona which can be applied to many other European cities, so it's not just Barcelona you need to worry about in particular. What I mean is don't worry away your holiday, as you'll finish thinking what a great city/time but it was maybe hampered by you worrying too much!

Have a great time!

U will have no problem on this area, the most dangerous area at night time is located at the ciutat vela area very close to rambla, specially at the end of the street, also during day time take care of pickpocket on this area

Don't worry . The "Eixample Dret" is one of safest neighbourhood in Barcelona.

If you have not a reservation still a recommend an apartment in Marina area www.apartamentomonumental.com

You only should be careful with your luggage when you arrive and careful with your wallet when you get the metro or bus.

Also you should have special attention in Ramblas, Raval, Ciutat vella.

Unfortunately is true that Barcelona centre is plenty of pickpockets like Paris, Roma, etc because they know that Barcelona is a big tourist city.

I am sure that you will enjoy.

Just got back from a European trip and spent 4 nights in Barcelona (Eixample Dret neighborhood). Regarding safety, we did not encounter any issues while we were there (e.g. walked to Sagrada Familia at 23h to take some pictures). However, this does not mean you ignore your common senses.

Don't know your age, but if you're able to ride a bike, I highly recommend hiring a bicycle and exploring the city. Also, use public transportation, instead of Bus Turistic which seems to have long queues and didn't drop people off at the place of interests (e.g. Parc Guell).

Hope you have fun.
Cheers.
