Group tour/safari
I'm living and working in Cameroon until the middle of August and would like to do some sightseeing in the country; in particular I'd like to see some animals or do some hiking in the mountains. Ideally I'd like to join up with a group but could go on a tour individually if the price is right. Anyone have advice as to tour companies or connecting with groups traveling in the country?

safety in northern cameroon
Hi,
a relative of mine is planning to go volunteer in Maroua in the north of Cameroon.
I was thinking about a visit, during planning I noticed warnings about all travel to this area.
Does anyone have current information about the local situation, in particular about Maroua,
about the nature of possible threats (e.g. is there a danger of violence of political/religious/financial motivation, or can anyone confirm the outbreak of meningitis in the area).
Also, how much rain is to be expected in July in the region and what are usually the consequences of heavy rain fall in the region?
Thanks a lot for all advice, it is much appreciated

Weather in Cameroon
Hi,
Im planning to travel in Cameroon in August for 2 weeks and was reading that:
The best months to visit are November to February, although you’ll have harmattan haze during much of this time. The worst months are July to October, when it’s raining almost everywhere, and many roads impassable.
Is it really raining all of August and not a god idea to visit then? If its wet for the whole month then I will travel somewhere else but I really wanted to visit the country.
Any advice?

Two weeks volunteering in Buea
My husband and I are thinking of volunteering in Buea for two weeks in October and are looking for ideas for weekend trips from there. Limbe and Kribi look like the places to go for beaches - which is better? Is there anywhere near Buea to see good wildlife?

Camerron/ advice
Hi!
In the second half of November, I would like to travel in Cameroon for 3-4 week. I did not find much information about the country. It 4 weeks enough for Cameroon?
Weather forecast in November and December in Cameroon? What are the average daily cost, and how, if the country is traveling alone by public transportation?
Thanks for the tip.

Chad and Gabon embassies in Yaounde
Hi there
I'm hoping to get visas for entry to Chad and Gabon in Yaounde.
I've tried calling both embassies over the past week but no-one has answered.
Gabon: +237-2220-2966
Chad: +237-2221-0624
Does anyone know if these embassies are still operational and issuing visas?
Anything special required in order to obtain the visas?
Many thanks in anticipation.

Visa run in Yaounde - which ones are fastest?
I hold the Singapore passport and will be in Yaounde for 4 days to try to get visas for the following countries:
- Chad
- Central African Republic
- Congo-Brazzaville
- Gabon
I am willing to pay urgent visa fees. Can these visas be done within one day? Which ones are the easiest and which the most difficult?
Thanks for any advice.

weather in June
Hi eve
I have visited Cameroon a couple of times in April and it was o.k. I am now thinking of going in June. What kind of weather can I expect esp. in Douala and on the coast? Whole days of rain, daily showers? Will there be any point of going to the beach or should I rather plan on visiting the North?
Thanks in anticipation

Mandara Mountains
Hello everyone,
I was hoping I could get some help on travelling through the Mandara Mountains region. My main question is on transport - do you normally travel through the region by car, or walk? Is there anybody who has done both and can compare?
Are there any villages that really stood out for anyone? Hopefully your responses will help me with determining how I travel through the region and how much time I want to spend there (I will be travelling in June or July).
Many thanks in advance for any responses.
