Have any of you that map of Africa that shows the different countries fitting into the continent? It is basically showing how big the continent is in relation to other countries like China, India, America that all fit into the coastline of Africa. Anyone got that information at there fingertips?
Well, I have pretty much decided on Morocco for my annual fall vacation this year. (It was down to Morocco, Panama, Chile, or Laos/Cambodia)
I am just now starting my 'forum" of Q&A. Stay tuned for many questions, ranging from well thought out to just plain silly.
I'm a well seasoned single traveller and am looking forward to the adventure. The plan is 20+ days for the trip. The little reading I have done indicated the public buses and taxis are the way to go, but I will probably rent a car somewhere for a week, probably out of marrakesh unless I am pointed elsewhere. I fly in/out of Casablanca I think. Definites include Fez, Meknes, marrakesh, essouaira.
Take care and prepare yourselves.....

We will travel in Mozambique this summer ( 15 july-15 august) from Maputo to Central Mozambique.
Is it necessary to book ahead all the accomodation in Maputo and beachresorts??
I have seen that the prices of accomodation are extreem different; between $45 and $ 450!!
What is a good mid range option in Maputo / Beira ?
My fiancee and I are getting married in early October of this year. We plan to travel to Morocco and spend around 14 days there. We'd like to experience a good combination of desert, mountain, ocean, and city. What do you all suggest for an itinerary?
This turned up on the India Branch
Here is my reply.
I found this thread while searching for something else and this statement intrigued me very much, so I looked into it.
The brand name is Paldrugone. However, it appears that it is not being produced for sale in India, but rather for export. The only country I can find where it is being sold is Poland. Last September, someone posted to a Polish message board that he hunted for it while visiting India and never found it.
The original GSK stuff is sold as Malanil in some countries--South Africa and Thailand that I know of for sure. It is prescription in SA and tightly regulated in Thailand.
There is a generic atovaquone-proguanil licensed in the US. Pre... more »
Hallo out there
we are just starting planing our trip to Namibia, Botswana ending in Victoria falls.
We have got about 3 weeks - does it sound reasonable???
Car rental - wich car would you recommend?? Price??
How much should we plan in for hostels???
The tour was recommend to me from an agency, but we hat to pay EUR 2000 per person. We hope to find a cheaper way to do it.
I'd like to visit a cocoa plantation in Ghana, ideally one not too many miles from Kumasi or Accra. Has anyone been to one, and was it a worthwhile experience?
How did you arrange it?
Has anyone got any advice on travelling to see the himba tribes around Opuwo and Kaokveld or even Damaraland? Heading up to Namibia next week and really keen to get to this area but don't have my own transport. I know some overlanders stop in the area (Damaraland at least) as part of a tour but they tend to spend very little time there.
Anyone interested in joining up to head to the area by all means get in touch. Cheers.

I am planning to work on a charity programme for two weeks in the August and then am wanting to go on a 3-7 day trek to see the gorillas in their natural habitat!
Has anyone done one of these? I am also on quite a tight budget but am aware this will be quite costly so would like to be on the best and most environmentally/Gorilla friendly tour :-)
Thank you very much in advance for any help you can give!!
Hi, my Egyptian fiance and I are looking to get married in Egypt in May 2013 thereabouts. Do any of you have any recommendations of wedding venues and hotels? We were thinking of having the civil ceremony in Cairo and the celebration to be held in Sharm or Dahab. We would like the celebration to be an open air location, maybe in the desert, bedouin themed with traditional arabic music and belly dancing.
We need all the advice we can get !
