I'm shocked to see that there is very little accommodation available in Kruger during the first week of October. Must be because of the school break?
My friend and I would like to spend 3 nights there from Monday 1st October till Thursday 4th October. We have a budget of R450 each for accommodation. Can someone suggest which camp(s) we should stay at out of the ones that are available on these days (http://www.sanparks.org/parks/kruger/tourism/availability.php)
We will be driving to Kruger from Johannesburg and prefer accommodation with some sort of shower. Given the limited accommodation options within the park, we're also prepared to consider staying outside the park (e.g. Hazyview).
I've been reading these forums but still feel just as confused as ever!
mostly I'm confused about wheather i should go to rwanda or uganda:
time is really of the essence for me , so from the hubs of entebbe or kigali, which offers me the fastest and most straightforward route to the gorillas? it seems going from kigali to musanze is pretty straight forward? which country would be better as a solo female traveller?
obviously were I go depends on the permit so how specifically do I get one?? people on these forums have written about contacting the UWA or that tour companies will sell the pe... more »

Hello, We are 2 girls travelling in Morocco. At the moment we are in Essaouira with plans to do a trip to the desert for a night or 2. We're trying to decide if it would be better to go back to Marrakech and plan the trip there or get a bus directly from Essaouira to Ourzazate and find a trip there. If so, does anyone have any recommendations for companies or specific trips or should we just arrive and speak to the people we find there?
also, we are planning on heading to Fes and Chefchaouen after the desert, are there any other places you recommend? we have no set itinerary or time constraints, we are however on a budget.
We heard that travelling down the coast from Essaouira to Imsouane was nice and also heard that Ouzoud Falls was pretty spectacular.
any advice or suggestions would be welcome and appreciated.
We would like to travel through Zambia, Malawi and Tanzania with a jeep for 4 months. Our plan is to buy a jeep in Zambia and sell it in Zambia at the end of our trip. Has anybody got experience with that? And if so, have you got any tips about it?

Hi all, i'm spending a few days in Morocco this august and -knowing it will extremely hot- i would still like to spend a night at the dunes at Erg Chebbi. LP says there are flights connecting Casablanca and Errachidia with royal air maroc, which i've also read at a thorn tree here. But no matter how much i search, i cannot find a flight connecting the two at anytime during the summer.
Can anyone help???
Thanks very much in advance
Greetings...... We are going to be doing a guided 4-day trail in iMfolozi in late Oct/early Nov 2012. Afterwards, we would like to see some of Greater St Lucia to get a different nature experience. We are considering a few days in Tembe Elephant Park and a few days in the southern part of Greater St. Lucia (maybe Eastern Shore/Mfabeni). We have 6 days after iMfolozi and need to be in Durban on day 7. While we often like to snorkel, we are not planning on taking our snorkel gear with us, so we will have to skip that (even though it seems to be a famous place for such). We will rent a car, so can go wherever a car will take us. My questions are:
a. Are there areas in the southern part where we can hike around for an hour or two at a time on our own? Most of what I have found seems to be guided hikes, and we want more of a self-guided experience.
b. If yes to the above, which area(s) ... more »
Have any Canadians had difficulty getting a Mauritainia visa enroute thru Morroco?
After investigating guides, I've found three that have gotten great reviews: Mohammed at Aberus Ethiopia tours; Eskinder at Ethiiopian Tour; or Getts. Has anyone had experience with any of these people?
(Note: Backpacking isn't what we had in mind; We like traveling in style.)
Just wanted to let anyone know that the weekly Tuesday and Friday departures from Aline Situe Diatta ferry in Dakar will be starting up again on Tuesday July 10th. Its best to get the ticket a day or two in advance and arrive around 5 or 6pm on day of departure to ensure a seat. I think it arrives in Ziguinchor around 10 am next morning. I will be heading that way on the 10th if anybody is traveling and wants some company. See ya :)
We are arriving in Cape Town this coming Saturday (july 7th) and would like to spend the afternoon in Stellenbosch. We would prefer not to spend a silly amount of money on a "tour" that has limited offerings ( usually mandatory lunches and souvenir shops) . We would also prefer to not drive. Does anyone know of a small tour company that would allow you to visit as much or as little as you would like to see. We have had a friend recommend a few wineries and would much prefer to visit those than predetermined ones. There are just three of us. Perhaps there is a car service available that could take us around the wineries? Thank you for your help. Sorry for the short notice
Has anyone got any information on how to go from mwanza to Kigali on public transport ? There is not a lot in the book about that part of the country. Any help would be great. We have the visa for Rwanda.
Does anyone know of options for doing laundry in either Kairouan or Le Kef? Is this going to be easy to find or impossible?
Thanks for your help!
Can anyone provide tips on good Italian or Jewish delis in Johannesburg? We are looking to find places where we can secure ingredients (not necessarily ready made lunch food).
Any help or advice is appreciated, as always!
