10/2, then 160/2, then 170/5.
175/5 at close after only 61 overs, rain ending it early, nicely poised.

A. Will choke under the glare of the spotlight at home.
B. Will compete with other also very talented teams such as Sweeden, Russia and Finland and stand a good chance of doing well but so do the other teams.
C. Will have a cake walk to gold because of their clearly superior roster and home ice.
I'll take B. C should be the answer, because they will have the best team, but I think some hot goalie or Canada underperforming might bring it to B.

How does ticketing work for test cricket?
Do they sell only tickets to the whole thing? Or only one-day tickets? Or both?
Can you also buy single-session tickets (e.g., for the afternoon session on the third day, so you arrive when they get back from lunch and leave when they break for tea)? If so, are people who only attend one session like that looked upon as douchebags?
If you buy a ticket for day 5 and it turns out to only take four days to finish the test, do you get a refund?
Just curious how you go about consuming a sport where if you want to watch a whole match, you have to take a week out of your life to do it.

3 weeks of darts is one of the best things about this time of year.
What other "sport" could have someone with "Bronzed Adonis" on the back of his top? Great stuff.
I've always intended to go and watch the darts. Has anyone ever been? I'm always surprised that it doesn't kick off when everyone is leathered. Maybe my inner snob would surface it I went to it though.
Hankey and Taylor will win. Although I'd like to see O'Shea and Barney win their respective championships.
I'll go for my darkhorse as the Aussie Brett Lee in disguise

according to me
with a "hear no evil, speak no evil" attitude towards steroids--they are what they are at this point.
C - Mauer
1B - Pujols
2B - Kent (not a great decade for 2B)
SS - Jeter
3B - Rodriguez
LF - Bonds
CF - Beltran
RF - Guerrero
SP - Johnson, Clemens, Halladay, Santana, Lincecum (yes, already)
Closer - Rivera
Second team position players would be I-Rod, Teixeira, Biggio, Tejada, Chipper Jones, Ramirez, Griffey (who, remember, by 2000 was already suffering chronic injuries), and Suzuki. Second-team rotation is Pedro, Schilling, Oswalt, Pettitte, and I guess maybe Josh Beckett. The second closer would have to be Trevor Hoffman.

I OP'ed more than 24 hours ago "FIFA player of the year", did no-one pick up the inconsistencies and fabrications, or was it too lame to comment on?

I'm not sure what Gayles problem is in suggesting that favouritism was shown to the aussie players when none of the three that were reported were suspended. Benn's, Haddin's and Johnson's run in. I agree that Haddin should of been fined and Benn shouldn't complain about his suspension but Johnson is little hard done by.
Watson just needs to be made to watch his carry on a couple of hundred times as punishment for his deeds.

Would you rather be managing a team with a decent history and support, punching above their weight in the SPL with the occasional (albeit brief) foray into Europe; or doing an impossible job managing a country with a proud history in football but who have literally feck all chance of qualifying for a major tournament, while suffering from the weight of public expectation, and only have about five competitive games a year? Personally I'd go for the former. International management is for old boys who've done it at club level and fancy an easier life.

Just saw the awards on TV. Well deserved win to Leo Messi.
In presenting the award, Sep Blatter gave special thanks to all concerned for the innovative way in which the winner of the Balon D'or was chosen this year.
"In conjunction with the BBC and Lonely Planet, the most intelligent and informed football fans from around the world were secretely poled on a site known as World of Sport, and Messi received nearly twice as many votes as his nearest rival." Blatter then blathered on quite a lot, but I feel congratulations are due to everyone who unwittingly participated in the ballot that chose the best player in the world for 2009.

A lot of people seem to cream themselves off him, as have a lot of pundits recently when picking their team of the decade - but was he that good? I always considered him over-rated, and only trumpeted as a 'great' because of the lack of outstanding talent since Maradona. The same goes for Ronaldo (the crybaby one), Figo, Lampard (ha ha) etc - none of whom are fit to lace Maradona, Cyruff etc's boots. I do think the original Ronaldo was top class though, and could have been better if he'd tried harder.

I had mine last Friday....
All I did was get my knob out and Bar Dive a table in a pub 3 times - and broke the fecker on the 3rd attempt!
I felt a bit dodgy going back to the Office today but it was High Fives all round and 'Legend' comments.
I made the Effort, ok?
Anyone else dropped a bollock during the Festive period, so far?
Sports related? I'm staying at Raver's Gaff on Boxing Day after Exeter get hammered 3-0 by the Saints...I may just get my Yule Log out again!
