Following the defeat, Wigan's players are going to refund fans.
Is this the start of a new trend?
As a sidenote, can't believe Titus Pantus is still playing top-flight - he's shit.

If your country gets knocked out of a tournament early--or isn't involved at all--do you pull for the people whose language you understand?
For example, if you're English and England is in group A, and the Australians are in group B, are you pulling for the Aussies to come out of group B, on account of cultural commonalities?
I ask because there's something instinctive in me, personally, that makes me do that sort of thing, and I was wondering if it was just me.

I know quite a few people who are now in two minds, as they are embarassed at some of the players representing England and can't stand the thought of various odious twats in our team winning world cup medals. Have to admit, I'm one of them. What do others think?
This is a question for the Poms by the way, not the English-obsessed inferiority-ridden sheep-theives and drive-tarmacers, who I know would like nothing more than to see Blighty win next summer.

Thierry Henry has admitted he considered ending his international career, and that he felt "let down" by the France Football Federation following his handball against Ireland which helped put the country through to the World Cup finals.

Wow, Another win by the Excretians, but it is only over lousy Stockport County (The "Hatters"), one of the worst teams in League One. But "a win is a win", and the Excretians have moved up in the Standings ("Table" to you in the U.K.), and may yet play again next year in League One --- but look for the "Hatters" to be playing in League Two next year because THEY STINQUE.

In my opinion, the findings made a lot of sense.
Why not look to increase funding into the promotion of sports which the majority of people are likely to participate in? - eg Cricket, Footy, Soccer.
IOC puppet John Coates is clearly operating on the 'squeaky-wheel-gets-the-grease' theory.

Soccer may have the highest percentage of cheats per head of population than any other sport and the fans accept it.
How many dives have resulted in a free kick which led to a goal? Diving is so prevelant it is seen as normal and some fans would be angered if their player did not take the opportunity to fall headlong into the turf to gain an advantage.Dives are often cheered by the home crowd while a handball (less common) is greeted with calls of "cheat" and demands for the players sacking are sure to follow.
A handball is no worse than a dive it's just another form of cheating. It's just not tolerated as much.

In footy, what do you think is the best rivalry you've seen? (ie: for the player rather than the fans)
for me, it's Arsenal vs united in the mid 2000s. The best moments were Keowns embarrassing (but understandable) reaction and the Keane Viera spat in the tunnel.
I don't think there is anything like this right now.
What about when Liverpool were top dogs last? Who were their main rivals at the time? I kow that in later years it was Arsenal and probably Everton at some stage, but was there a close rivalry like for those 5 years or so in the noughties?
What about other ones in history? I've never really given a shit about Chelsea compared to the arse a few years ago
