Colombia 5 Guidebook Updates PDF
LP staff - here are some updates for your next China edition. On second thought, go back to Xijiang. The place is completely changed from what's described in the May 2009 guidebook.
1. There's a 60 yuan entrance fee, planned to go up to a whopping 100 yuan in april 2010!
2. There's a new road here from Kaili, it takes only 1 hr. Here's the new bus schedule:
Kaili - Xijiang : 0900, 1030, 1230, 1430, 1630
Xijiang - Kaili: 0730, 0830,1000, 1300, 1500
Xijiang - Leishan: 0630-1730, regular buses
3. You can't feel you're the "only one who's found the place" as LP puts it. There's an enormous parking lot, full of chinese tour buses even in the off season, a big ticketing booth and a crowd of policemen at the entrance. The main street's under construction, but already lined with wood exterior, english sign shops, cafes and guesthouses. There's a huge hotel on the opposite riverbank. N...

Hello,
I had a very bad experience with the tour ageny Abu Asan alternative tours in Jerusalem. The agency is recommended by the Israel and the Palestine territories guidebook in the page 410.
I wanted to do my myseld the dead sea tour of the agency that normally costs 190 shekels ( divide by four for USD) as the agency did not gather enought people to do the tour. The owner of the agency Mr. Hassan was absolutey not clear about the final price of the tour as he said to me by phone the price was 190 shekels. Furthermore I only had a driver to accompany me and no tour guide whatsoever.
At tht time of paying Abu Assan argued that he needed 5 persons to fill the van and charged me 190x 5 !!!! 760 shekels. Firts of all maybe a misunderstading can be argued on this case however if for thîs price the tourists get a GUIDE and not just a driver in the package, I do not see why I...

2008 LP Pak/KKH book is full of errors
Has anyone noticed that the colour inset map of the KKH region at the start of the 2008 LP book on KKH and Pak. claims that Uzbekistan is in western China and that Turkmenistan is to be found on the Pak. side of the Wakhan coridoor which divides Tajikistan , Afghanistan and Pakistan.???????
These dudes are off their tits if they think anyone could take them seriously. Much of the book seems to be based on hearsay and PTDC leaflets.

Just wondering if anyone knows if there's a new LP PNG book coming out in the new future (I don't want to buy one now if a new one is out in a couple months). Looks like they may be due for a new one, since the current edition is around 1.5 years old.
In general, is there any way to find out what LP's schedule is for releasing guidebooks for different countries?
Thanks!

When is the newest Australia guidebook going to be available in the US? LP website says it is released in October 09 for the Americas, but out of stock in the US. Any updates on this?
Thanks.
