DTAC at Don Muang airport
It's been a couple of months since we last had a flight from Don Mueang airport - back in March we noticed it didn't have any mobile phone service desks like Suvarnabhumi airport.
Has this changed since March - if not, does anyone know if the 7-11 air side sells DTAC sims and load? I remember asking in the 7-11 in Suvarnabhumi once and they didn't stock sim or load cards, so obviously not all 7-11's stock them. I had a look at DTAC's website and it only lists a centre at Don Mueang plaza which unfortunately closes at 20:30 (we don't land until 21:40).
Any info would be great.

Coastal areas - Thailand (or Cambodia?)
I've searched previous posts before writing this but I haven't been able to find anything very helpful, and internet searches haven't been too useful either, so hopefully someone will be able to help.
I'm planning a month-long trip to SE Asia in August - the only concrete plan I have is that we're flying into & out of Bangkok, and we're trying to figure out roughly where we'd like to go although we'll be booking as little as possible in advance so we're able to change our minds along the way if we want to. I'd like to spend some time somewhere on the coast, but I'm neither a party person nor someone who wants to just lie on a secluded beach for days on end. I love the sea and coastal scenery, but I don't want to end up in a place where the only thing to do is sit on a beach. Equally, I don't want to go somewhere that's going to be busy and full of tourists who mostly just want to lie...

Koh Chang to Bangkok
Hi fellow travellers :)
So I will be going to Koh Chang near Pattaya around 18th July.
Question goes:
1.How many days do I need to count on when I need to be back at Bangkok intl. airport . Need to catch a flight 26th July, checking inn at 11 am.?
There is going to be some full moon stuff so dont know if there is some kind of rush hour also counting in the weather in July?
2. Also going there in July some say the island is closed down, due to the rain?
3. Any good midrange(20-40$) places around lonely beach, since we are a group of 5-6 ppl. for the full moon, which is said to be best at lonely beach?
Book in advance?

Great beach with hut under 500 Baht: Ko Phangan, Ko Lanta or Ko Phayam?
Hello,
I have a week left for beach holiday in Thailand and am looking for a place with a great beach, some other backpackers and huts for no more than 500 Baht per night.
Not sure where to go: Ko Phangan (been there lots of times, like it), Ko Lanta (never been) or Ko Phayam (never been) ?
Where would you go?

I have a trip to SE Asia planned for the summer (june, july +august). we will be in south thailand in July and planned to travel Bangkok-Krabi-Ko Phi Phi- Ko Lanta- Ko Muk- Ko Lipe- Langkawi.
Ive seena few posts saying the ferries stop in April. Is this ALL ferries? do you think this route will still be possible or should we re-think the route and go over land?
thanks!

Weather October
Im just wondering about traveling to Thailand in October I know its nearing the end of the wet season and rain is expected but how much? Will it rain all day with no sunshine or just rain for certain periods during the day? I don't mind a bit of rain, I think it would be nice but if the weather was awful all the time with no sun it would be off putting.
Has any one visited in Oct?
Thanks
Thailand Adventure
Hi All
Myself and a friend are planning on spending 5 weeks in Thailand/Vietnam/Bali over August into Sept.
We are completley open to any route/adding in ideas/taking out destinations etc
We have about £1700 spending for the 5 weeks. (is this realistic)
We are more open to the idea of adventures/discovery and checking out places rather than touristy things i.e. elephant rides etc.
If anyone could offer advice on their MUST SEE PLACES - and why, please let us know!
We are also 2 21 year old girls - are we safe enough on our own?
Thanks for your help and suggestions.
Any additional info needed to aid your advice, just let me know!
Thanks!

ChiangMai or.....for someone with backproblems
Hi,
Coming from BKK on nighttrain and stopover for a day at Ayuthaya.
Staying for 7 nights at ChiangMai or......I'dont know where to go or better how to plan the trip?
Travelling with my boyfriends parents who's mother has backproblems.
We want to see nature, wildlife, some culture. I don't know if we can find an agency for trips not so heavy.....
we surely don't want to go for an elephant trekking.
Maybe going on to Mae Hong son, Sukothai? What about the distances?
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks!
KO PHANGAN AND PHUKET REPORT.
I have just seen a BBC television show from about 2011 - ' Stacey Dooley Investigates Thailand' * , in which she examines the dark side of tourism . While waiting for an appointment to see the prime minister about the plight of sea gypsies about to lose their last remaining land on Rawai beach , Phuket she visits the full moon party at Ko Phangan . Her first reaction was to blurt out loudly to the camera - " Its sooo COMMERCIALISED !!!!! , its soooo ENGLISH !!!!!! Its not what I expected !!!!!!. Why don't more partygoers have that reaction ?.
The brief glimpses of Patong and Rawai beaches at Phuket during her visit were shocking. Many posters here fret about the party scene and thats understandable but no matter how moronic the FMP is the elephant in the room is what mainstream and upmarket tourism has done to Phuket . Without the full moon party its possible that H...

18 Year old, first time backpacker HELP AND ADVICE APPRECIATED :)
Hello guys!
So ive travelled to Thailand twice in the past, once when I was 11 and another when was 14 with my family and had the time of my life!.
Over the years ive saved up a fair bit of cash and thought what better way to spend it than to go travelling!
My plan so far is to spend 1 month in Thailand travelling around the country staying in cheap hostels and eating cheap street food as much as possible, then travel to Cambodia and spend 2 weeks there before returning to Thailand for another 2 weeks before flying home from Bangkok.
Ive done plenty of research but there are a few things I would like advice and confirmation on, so here goes!....
1. Would I have any problems regarding visa's if I stay in Thailand for just under one month then travel either by plane or train to Cambodia, spend 2 weeks there and return to Thailand for a further 2 weeks before flying home?
