Arriving Mumbai 1 January for three months of independent travel: Mumbai, down into Goa, east to Karnataka then wandering my way up to Delhi, west into Rajasthan. Interested in the occasional meet-up with fellow-travellers or nationals for a drink/meal and conversation. Only. Can connect via Thorn Tree pm.

Canadian (45) heading off to Nepal to hike into Everest Base Camp this April (looking at a departure around April 25). I did the hike in 2007 and I am returning using the same guide who is the owner of Nepal Nomads (his website is nepalnomad.com). Is anyone interested in joining on the trek? If so drop me a line. Right now its just me and maybe one friend of mine who is still debating.
Cheers
Alex

We will be arriving in Cairo on the 30'th.We have no idea what to do or where to go for new years eve because we have never been to Egypt before. I know that there are no gay bars or clubs but where can we go that is at least "gay friendly"
any suggestions on fun things to do ?

I´m in Patagonia right now and plan to travel to Torres del Paine NP in Chile and on to Tierra del Fuego over the next month. If any other younger fellas are in the area looking for a travel companion, specifically to go camping, etc. drop me a line. I´m very comfortable and experienced in the outdoors and have a tent stove, etc. Just looking for a friend to travel and hang out with. If you aren´t into camping, I´ll also be spending time in Puerto Natales, Punta Arerans and Ushuaia. We could meet up for drinks or something. Happy travels!
James

I am planing a trip this summer with my boyfriend and we are unsure where to start our Mexican adventures. Never having been to Mexico I don't know really where to begin.
At the moment I am torn between Mexico City, Guadalajara, or the beach ( Tulum? or Puerto Excondido?)
We both love food and art
Does anyone have any recommendations? we will be there, hopefully, in June and are planning on staying 2 to 3 weeks
We have discussed possibly working on an organic farm through WWOOF for a stint too
Any suggestions would be great

Hey guys,
I was just wondering how everyone managed relationships while they were on round the world trips and doing longterm travel, especially if people can't come with you.
I guess that is the biggest thing holding me back right now, I've done medium length (4 months in africa, 11 in Aus, etc) trips before, but I sort of want to go away again.
The catch is that I have a relationship here with someone who, because of their medical training schedule, can't get away with me (maybe a month or two a year, tops). I know that a lot of people will probably say that if it doesn't work it'd be easy to meet someone overseas, but being gay, and being that I probably wouldn't be headed to europe, I'm just not sure.
Most of the places I've traveled are areas it isn't safe to be out.
How do you guys balance it? Would you leave a partner of a year and a half to go travel? Has any...

Hi everyone - has anybody been out gay clubbing in Istanbul? If so can anyone recommend a particular club and tell me their opinions on it?
I look forward to hearing from anyone.
Regards,
Colin.

Hi Everybody;
It's still a bit away..but I'll be studying at the University of Guadalajara the next semester (Jan.-Jun.). Im planning to go to Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama when Im finished; two more months of backpacking (Jul.-Aug.) is the idea. Anyone around Guadalajara or the above mentioned countries on these dates? Let me know and maybe we could meet up :)
Cheers,
Joris

I would appreciate it if you could give me some recommendations for a not too expensive (ie not ludicrous) cosy/great setting restaurant with fab food for a friend of mine. Can't be too fancy & require a booking way in advance - it's a week till they are there. Looking for areas easy to get to from Victoria or in the city centre.
I know Old Compton Street is the main gay area - any recommendations for pubs/bars/restaurant for a 40/50 year old couple?
It's their first time in London & I'd love for them to love it as much as I do.

This is very unfortunate news.

Has anyone travelled there? How's like? Surely when travelling in Africa (for most countries anyway) one should be careful about disclosing his/her sexual orientation?

Standing in my boxer shorts, sorting through a massive pile of what to take. Heading to New Delhi, India on Thursday, Dec 3 for 2 months. Read other posts and realized cruising in train station toilets and random, murky parks wasn't really my thing. Anyone in India for
December and January, who wans tot meet, grab a motorcycle, rickshaw, elephant and hit places not in your Lonely Planet guide ? Let me know.
You can reach me at boac@live.com as well.
