help me with 10 day itinerary in spain

I'm arriving in Madrid Saturday morning. I need to be in Ibiza by Tuesday and in Barcelona on Thursday. I'm flying out Madrid on Sunday. The rest of my time is unspoken for. I COULD fly straight from madrid to Ibiza and spend more time on the beach, but what else would I have time to see if I took my time getting to Ibiza and took trains or buses and the ferry from the coast instead?

Rail pass with bike

I'm considering a 12 trip rail pass to travel around with a bike. It seems I have to get permission to take a bike on the train, so can I get a ticket on the day of travel with this pass? What 12 places would you recommend for old buildings, greenways, and scenic routes starting from and ending in Barcelona? Can anyone recommend a used bike shop in Barcelona?

Seville to Ronda or Cordova then Granada or

Seville to Cordova or Ronda then Granada...just wondering which is the more logical order to follow as a road route to drive, as these are four places we'd like to (briefly) see, and we will be driving.

Toll roads in Andalucia

Are there numerous toll roads in and around Seville-Granada-Malaga like the ubiquitous amount in Northern Spain?
Will be based in Seville with rental car, just wondering how much to expect to pay for toll roads on trips.

Cheers,

guv

Barcelona- Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia

If you're travelling to Barcelona, I know it's on most peoples' list, but MAKE sure to visit Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia. It costs $20 to get into about, but it is wellllll worth it. I returned home not too long ago, and the place is simply stunning.

La Sagrada Familia (Church) in Barcelona

The pics and video in the link don't do it justice I'm afraid, to see it in person is far more impressive, but if you're on the fence about whether to go, it should help you make your decision.

Hope this helps with your travels through Spain.

Traveling around Northeast Spain

My husband and I are looking to travel from Barcelona to San Sebastian. We are considering taking a couple of days to drive there, spending some time in La Rioja, Pamplona, and areas surrounding. Is it worth it to rent a car and drive to see the surrounding regions? Or should we just take the train from Barcelona to Pamplona and then Pamplona to San Sebastian?
Thanks!

Cheapest way to get to Ibiza from the east coast?

I'm flying to Ibiza to meet up with some friends in June. What's the cheapest way to get there from the DC area? I don't mind driving to a different city to fly from, long layovers, switching airports, going on cheap airlines, etc, just want to get the lowest cost.

3 days hiking in the Pyrenees- Espot or Boi?

Hoping anyone can advise- we are having a very abbreviated trip to Catalonia in September with 3 full days devoted to walking in the Pyrenees. Where to go so that we don't spend more time driving than walking?Have decided best to base ourselves to explore Parc Nacional d'Aiguestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici. Does this sound the right approach? If so, are we best to have our 4 nights/3 days based on western side of Parc at Boi or Taull, or eastern side of Parc at Espot? We are looking for picturesque village which gives us best access to full day or half day walks- we are good to hike up to 18km as a day walk, so looking for advice as to best village to base ourselves, and good half day or full day walks from this base. We will have a car. Any/all advice greatly appreciated!

CALLING SE SPAIN EXPERTS: 3 weeks SE Spain in August

Hi,

My husband and I (late 50's) are beginning to plan a 3 week holiday to SE Spain 05 - 23 August, 2013. We are experienced travelers but novices in Spain. We are looking at Barcelona / Madrid / Toledo / Cordoba / Granada / Barcelona.

We like to absorb the atmosphere of countries we are in. We are not huge "culture vultures" as in museums / art galleries, but love history. We love to walk around small villages also.

If you are a Spain expert could you please give us a realistic itinerary, with places to visit and transportation Options - shall we train and car? Also any great pensions to stay in or cheaper historic accommodation.

All suggestions will be gratefully received.

Regards Julie & Bryan

Change 'New Zealand Dollar' cash to 'Euro' in Barcelona

I wonder what the likely percentage loss will be to change NZ$ cash to Euro in Barcelona? I have made some comparisons in London, the loss (from NZ$ to GB£) amounts to 6%. I am talking about 500 Euro here.

Also can anyone recommend a good Barcelona cambio (bank/street cambio) for both NZ$ and GB£ to Euro?!

Much appreciated!
