Easy Access Car Rental ~ Rome to Sorrento

Hello everyone,

I've decided to rent a car from Rome and drive to Sorrento. In your collective humble opinions, geographically, where would the best car rental agency be in terms of easy access out of Rome and onto the autostradas. Thanks

Getting to Chateau Versailles

Hi,

I would like to ask how to get to Chetaue Versailles by public transport from our hotel Premiere Classe Versailles (address: Rue du Pont de Dreux, Saint-Cyr-l'Ecole, Yvelines 78210) Googlemaps tells me by car it will take 8 minutes and by foot it will take 1 hour and 13 minutes to get there. The distance is 6 kilometres. It is said that you can park at the streets around the castle but I don't know how much and we would like to keep the costs down.

Can someone please lend a hand ? Will be departing for France the day after tomorrow.

Honeymoon to Italy: depart July 3rd and return July 21st

We can use all the help and advice we can get from costs, to suggestions, as well as recommendations.
Here are my thoughts, please advise.

Fly from Philadelphia to Venice July 3rd, stay in Venice for 5 days.
Go from Venice to Florence, stay in Florence for 4 days.
Spend 2 days on the Almafi Coast, then head to Rome for 5 days.
Spend the last two days at Lame Como, and fly out of Switerzlerland.

I need to book this soon, considering it is only a few months away.
We will be bringing out I-pad as well, any helpful Apps I should download?

Thank you.

Cycling Clermont-Ferrad-Montpellier in march/april

Hi all!

I'll be going on a European bike trip in the easter holiday this year - about a week. I am struggling to find the right spot. I am into landscapes and nature and the like...

Now, I have come up with a good option - or so I think. But maybe someone who knows the area can tell me if I'm crazy or it's impossible - or if it's actually a good idea...

I am thinking of route from Clermont-Ferrad through Parc naturel régional des Volcans d'Auvergne and the Parc National de Cevennes ending up in Montpellier.

Should I expect snow in late march? Will there be campsites/shops open along the route?

Thanks in advance for any tips you can give!

Problems booking alhambra tickets via ticketmaster

Hi,
I tried to book Alhambra tickets via ticketmaster but getting only errors.

First I had something called 666.001 at the final stage of the booking with "please try again". Now it won't even accept (master)card saying it cannot confirm it with bank and that I need to check with bank if it persists.

I used the card last night (in between Alhambra attempts) and that transaction went through without problems. So shouldn't be the card's fault that I cannot book.

Now I am clueless what to do. Did anyone else have problems booking?

Hotel says it can book tickets for me but seems they only book via the same site as I tried on so I'm not sure it is much use, also hesitant about starting to email card details. Read horror stories online of people having to wait 6 hours for a same day ticket...
What is the situation in mid-may -- hordes of tourists or a bit out of season...? ... more »

German Youth Hostals questions (food especially)

I have a trip to Europe planned with my family after which my 13-year-old daughter and I are going to spend some additional time biking on the Mosel/Saar/Rhine rivers. At present I'm thinking we'll spend five to 10 days, either going Saarbrucken-Trier-Koblenz or just Trier to Koblenz. It's going to be a very slow and leisurely ride whatever we do. We aren't trying to set any records.

So anyway, I'm thinking about our staying in official German Youth hostels in most of the towns along the way. My daughter will stay for half price, so the cost will be reasonable, and if we book early they will give us a private room. I've never stayed in an official youth hostel before, although I've spent perhaps half a dozen nights in backpackers hostels back in the day.

I'm curious as to the quality of the night-time meal. Is it fit to eat? The cost is quite reasonable, but sometimes the best p... more »

Train from Paris to Amiens

Hello,
I am travelling from Paris to Amiens by train then picking up a hire car in Amiens to tour the Somme region but the hire-car depot is out near the airport (in Av. de la Ville Ideale). There is a train station near there called Gare de Longueau. Do all / any of the trains stop at Gare de Longueau so we can get off there or do they all go right through to Amiens central station?
Thanks Wendy.
