I was thinking of visiting Spain next July for 3 weeks, but I've had that it is too hot to go at that time. Is that correct?
My friend and I going to be in Amsterdam for four days. We'll be arriving from the airport to centraal station, then taking the metro to the Weesperplein station (3 stops). After that, we hope to do as much walking as possible, depending on the weather, but we expect to also want to take the occasional tram or metro trip. We were planning on buying a strippenkaart that we would share, but I can't find info about the strippenkaart anywhere on the gvb website. Has the strippenkaart been eliminated? If so, what would be the best option for two people who want to take occasional trips on the metro and tram over a 4-day period?
Anyone been to Santander recently? I´m going there end of April for one week and would like to know about places they play real spanish music on evenings. Any clubs or bars you might know?
I am going to Greece with 2 girl friends from the 15-27 July.
We are going to spend 1 night in Athens before moving on to the islands. We are looking for beautiful beaches, great tavernas and would prefer a more chilled atmosphere rather than a hectic party scene. We have never been to Greece before so would love to see the blue and white buildings and take in authentic Greece.
Our initial plan is to go to Mykanos, Santorini and one small island at the end where we can just lie and chill out on the beach.
A few questions please:
1) 4 nights Mykanos, 3 nights Santorini, 4 nights chilled island - are we trying to fit too much in, or is this reasonable?
2) Is it possible to go to Mykanos and not be in the thick of things with clubs, etc? Is there a relaxed, less busy side to the island?
3) Any suggestions for the 3rd island? We are looking for a small, relaxed island wi... more »
Hi there, my husband and I and two friends ( all in our late sixties) are ending a river cruise in Budapest August 20th. We will fly out of Milan 6 days later and will rent a car in Budapest and travel a scenic route to Cinque Terra and spend two nights there. If the knees and backs hold out at least two of us will do the 5 hour hike.
I have been reading about the tragic flooding and hoping that we can still visit these amazing towns. My questions are:
Have any of you done this drive and do you have recommendations of scenic stops on the way to CT?
Which town and hotel do you recommend in CT for approx $150 a day per couple?
Should we bypass CT altogether and wait for another year to visit?
We have 6 days before flying out of Milan and our itinerary is wide open to suggestions for scenic drives, places to stay etc.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post. more »
Is there a campsite in Berlin -as near to the city as possible-where I could stay, with my vehicle, for a few days while finding a place to live for six months?
Also, I was wondering about overnight parking in the city at some place other than a campsite.
Within about ten days I expect to be in Berlin, expecting to stay for six months.
I want a quiet, simple place(one room would be enough, plus kitchen plus own bathroom), maybe in Kreuzberg. Internet access, however I arrange that, is essential. Near or fairly near to shops and public transport would be good for me.
I have heard, perhaps without justification, that there are instances where people have responded to ads on Craiglist, later to find their deposit is not repaid as promised. I wonder what is really the best way to go about renting in the city.
I have booked my flights to Greece (May 17th (1:30pm arrival) to May 28th (11:00am departure) and am looking for a little advice.
Here is the trip I have in mind, right now:
Day 1: Athens
Day 2: Athens
Day 3: Leave for Santorini (Oia)
Day 4: Santorini (Oia)
Day 5: Santorini
Day 6: Santorini
Day 7: Leave for _____
Day 8: _______
Day 9: _______
Day 10: Return to Athens
Day 11: Fly home
While on Santorini, I want to spend 2 nights in Oia, but the rest of the time close to a nice beach (I've read that Kamari is nice).
Days 7-9, I have no idea where go. Ideally, a nice beach... blue water, possibly able to snorkel... that sort of thing.
I've read that Ios is very nice and offers some snorkelling and that Paros has great snorkelling but not so great beaches.
Any help would be really great. Thanks, and if you need more information just ask and I'll get back t... more »

Will be staying in Bruges for a night and then I am in need a a good day trip itinerary. We would like to tour the St Bernardus Brewery and then head elsewhere. Does anyone have any good ideas on a few places not to be missed? Again, it it a day that I have outside of Bruges and will most likely have a rent car. Thank you very much!!!!
Hi, I am heading to nice for 3 days in May (11-14) and have 2 questions:
1) any suggestions on which area to stay in ? my partner and I are in our 30's, and are only there for a short period of time so would like to be in an area that is lively/ culterally rich ?
2) We are from Canada and tried to book a train from paris to nice. I have found the Paris-Nice train I want, filled out all of the forms etc on the TGV website with success. Then filled in my visa details etc only to discover a message saying my card has been 'refused'. I read on earlier posts that european websites haven't accepted Canadian/Australian visas in the past out of concerns of fraud ? has any one found a way around this. I am hoping to call TGV customer service in UK but can't find a phone number - has anyone been able to find this number ?
We are planning to visit Majorque and do some hiking in the Soller area. Would you say it is necessary to bring our hiking boots and poles or are good walking shoes sufficient given the type and condition of hiking trails we will find there.

In April, I will be travelling from London to France and Italy for 15 days, following is the itinerary - how does it look?
Portsmouth to St. Malo ferry -
1. Explore Mont St. Michel - 2 days
St. Malo to Paris by train
Paris halt -3 days
Paris to Milan - train/flight
Milan - 2 days
Milan to Venice - Train
Venice - 2 days
Venice to Florence - Train

Florence to Rome - Train

Any suggestions in itinerary? Also, since I intend to take train atleast 4 times, is it advisable to get a Interail/Eurail pass? What benefits will I get if I get a train pass?
Since this is my first international tour, I need all the help.
We are 3 buddys going for some wildcamping around the nationalpark Val d´Orcia and south of Tuscany.
Need some advice for safety, camping rules (guess it´s not allowed to wilcamp there) and maybe some advice for a itinerary.
We are heading to Rome late march, and then have 4-5 days in south Tuscany..
Any help is appreciated!
I am going to Sicily from 5/4/2012 - 10/4/2012 (UK Easter holiday) and would like to find a travel companion who is going there/thinking of going at that time. I am easy going, fun and flexible and looking for an active holiday to take in natural and cultural sights of Sicily (and get some sun and beach hopefully). I am female flying from London UK and not looking for romance, only a good holiday and relaxing time away with a like minded person.
Please also include something about you/what you would like to do on the holiday in reply.
Look forward to hearing back. Thanks.
