I'm going to stay in Vlissingen and would like to know the easiest way to reach Volendam from there. Is it true that there is no train route between the two towns? Is there any direct bus? Thanks if you can help :)
Hi I hope some one can help. One of my friends is moving to Rotterdam in the New Year. Can anyone recommend a walking tour or such they could do to get to know the city a bit better. Many thanks.
I have tried finding some information about the airport and how much time I need before departure. I read that I need 3 hours when flying international. Do I really need that much?
I'm flying on a friday, 14.40 local time with Emirates A380, in march.
Also, I'm landing in Kuala Lumpur 1455(with A380) local time on saturday and need to go to Kota Bharu. Am I safe if I book a flight at 1825?
Hello! I will be visiting Amsterdam in January and would like to catch a football match. Can i buy tickets at the stadium? Or do I need to buy them in advance?
the team I would like to see is Ajax in Jan 19 versus PSV.
Is Ajax stadium near downtown? Anything to do before and after match near stadium?

Please suggest a Bruincafe/Restaurant within 15/20 minutes walk of the Singel.
I am looking for female travel partner who is below 40 yrs old during my stay for 2 weeks in Amsterdam starting from November 25th till December 7th. I have a high class hotel room for stay but needed company for sight seeing, dinners and hanging out in bars for music etc. Any one interested please send me an email.
I will be staying near the city center and mostly available from evenings after my day at work. Any one interested to hanging out with me after 5pm onwards till night is most welcome. I do have weekends off and can spend the entire day with the pretty woman.
please send your emails soon.
Hi, I'm going to Amsterdam in May for a couple of days, the city centre hotels are so expensive, does anyone know of any semi-decent hotels quite close to city centre, or very near to public transport which can get us to city in about 5-10 minutes? A basic b&b, twin/double room with bath/shower/toilet & clean is all we need. Been looking at Bastion Amstel Amsterdam, but I'm not too sure how close this is to public transport etc...................
Any idea's would be great - thanks
We are five girls travelling to Amsterdam at New Year's. We've never been in Amsterdam before and we havn't got any ideas where to go. Anyone who has any suggestions for clubs, events, partys etc at New Year's eve? We would be very grateful!

I posted this and the marmots ate it so I'll try again.
I know it's a long shot but does anyone reading this happen to be an IB Dutch teacher or happen to know anyone who is? I'd be very grateful for any connections.
A slim chance indeed but stranger things have happened on the Thorntree.
Background story: I'm an American National. I have been in the Netherlands for 15 months. When I arrived in July 2012 I had no intention of staying or falling into whirlwind romance, however, at the end of the 90 days I'm allowed to stay in Europe, I found myself at IND (Immigration Services) with my fiancee applying for a residence permit. I confronted IND about the fact that I'd be illegal while trying to obtain my papers because I couldn't get my appointments moved up. They informed me that that was fine as long as I avoided the Foreign Police at all costs. Fast forward to April 2013, my fiancee and I are nearly certain that everything is coming together so I pre-register with the local government (which must be done before immigration will process anyone's paperwork). The paperworks we needed didn't come together though, and by July 2013 my fiancee and I split up because he no l... more »
My husband and I will be in The Netherlands for 10 days, starting December 1. We'll be in Amsterdam the first 3 nights, then to The Hague for a night (doing a tour of the ICC). We'd like to check out Maaatricht for a couple of nights, but could really use some suggestions on other cool places to check out.
Any tips? We like history, music, food (cheese!), local festivals and events, etc.
Thanks for your help!

Does anyone know if there is a proper post office at Schipol airport? I need to send a parcel internationally, and my stop over wouls allow me enough time to do it there.
Thanks for your input
I just wanted to hear from your former experiences and your supposition is this winter in Netherlands gonna be uncomfortable or cold for sightseeing, because I heard it is going to be very strong winter in Europe...?
