Coastal town
Hi all,
I have a couple nights booked in Galway and a couple nights booked in Killarney, using both as bases to explore the surrounding regions.
But I'm looking for a pleasant town, preferably on the coast, in between the two to spend and evening and night. Somewhere between Ennis and Killarney, actually. I'm looking at Kilkee or Tralee or Dingle, especially Kilkee since it seems to get less mentions as a place to visit. Any reviews of it? Or any other small towns that would be a nice place to crash?

Walking and Cycling the Cotswolds: Advice wanted
Hello everyone,
I am looking for advice on my stay in the cotswolds (end of July/beginning of August). My wife and I will be staying there for 5-6 days. So I thought of walking some parts of the Cotswolds Way (sort of) and cycle from quiet village to quiet village (with a tandem).
This is what I have planned so far:
- A walk from Broadway to Stanton and back
- A walk from Winchcombe to Bellas Knap and Sudeley castle
- Cycling from Chipping Campden to Moreton-In-Marsh and Guiting Power
- Cycling from Cirencester to Biburry

I’m organising a camping trip with some friends and am looking for a campsite accessible from London (maybe a train ride away), that is relaxed enough to let a group of people drink.
Does anyone know of such a campsite, or what areas are best to look for campsites nearby London, accessible by train?

Chatsworth House & Haddon Hall - Best days to visit?
Hello,
I will be staying in Buxton for a week and would like to spend one day visiting Chatsworth House, and one day visiting Haddon Hall. I am just wondering if either of these tend to be super busy on the weekend. Would a week day be better to visit these places rather than on a Saturday? Also, is it necessary to book a ticket online? Or can you usually just buy a ticket at when you get there?

Patrick Conway's to re-open
Historical site and allegedly Dublin's oldest pub, Patrick Conway's in Parnell St, is being renovated to re-open. According to some fellow drunks I know.
I don't know if, having been closed for what must be a number of years now, it gets to continue its claim for age.
Hopefully it'll be done with an effect of more authenticity than the nearby Parnell's lounge and bar or whatever it is called.
Which would be nice.
Photogenic lake or loch in Scotland
Often seen on pictures, films...there are views of scottish lakes or lochs with tiny islands covered with trees. I know something like that along Loch Sunard or Loch Lomond, but I would like to find more of these sceneries...
Where are your more beautiful lakes/lochs in Scotland?

Eating late in Tarbert, Harris
I am arriving at 7pm this Friday into Stornoway airport. I'll need to collect my hire car and make a quick trip to a supermarket (in Stornoway) to get some provisions. I then hope to drive down towards Tarbert, in readiness for hiking an Cliseam the following morning.
What are my chances of finding some food in Tarbert late on a Friday night? I don't suppose I'd be arriving there before about 9pm. I'm not looking for anything fancy, maybe some fish and chips from a takeaway? Do any pubs serve food at that time? Or am I better off staying in Stornoway the first night and doing the drive the folowing morning?

Many Irish people are so nice to visitors
I've just returned from 5 days around Dublin and I've been so struck by the number of Irish people who were so friendly and helpful to me, going out of their way to show me directions to places when this had nothing to with their job or any sort of gain. It just kept on happening.

England/Scotland Roadtrip 25 days
Hi,
Four of us (22-25years) have a hire car for 25 days this May/June and are planning on taking a roadtrip to parts of England and Scotland. I say 'parts' because we don't want to spend all day every day driving so understand we can't get north, south, east and west of both countries.
We prefer more natural sights, walking/hiring bikes/adventure activities rather than visiting big cities. We're starting and ending in London but the 25 days will be spent out of London. We like the coast. Does anyone have a favourite spot/activity etc in England and/or Scotland to share that may help us to roughly plan our trip?
My second question is, has anyone had experience roadtripping in the Uk and if so, what sort of accommodation did you find? We are on a budget and prefer self-catering accommodation. Are we likely to need to book ahead?

Visiting Scotland - Calling All Fellow Wanderers
Hello Everyone,
I'm from Canada and will be in Glasgow on May 30th and June 1st, and Edinburgh June 2nd. This will be my first time travelling in Scotland - I think it would be fun to meet up with any travellers or native Scots, male or female, to explore the city, be it just for a coffee or part of a day of sight seeing. I'm particularly interested in checking out some live music in Glasgow, and think it would be more fun with others. Anyone interested?
