Hello everyone, I'm 21 years old and I'm going to London in February for 2 weeks. I'm traveling alone but will be at my aunt house with my cousins.
The only problem is that they can tour all day with me to show me London and the result to say home and in the weekends they can get me where I want. I just don't want to sit in the house doing nothing.
So I was wondering what should I do there. I like all kind of activities and a down to earth person.
Thank you for your help.
i need to go from gatwick airport to victoria and return the next day. what's the cheapest option?
easyjet offers return tickets for £30. is that a good price?
sorry, haven't been in london for 5 years or so.
thanks for the help!!
Hello I'm 22 years old and will be going to London for 2 weeks around November, I'm travelling alone but will be staying at my cousins house.
The only thing is my cousins are 20 years older than me and have day time jobs, they decided to take 1 week off for me but the 2nd week i'll pretty much be on my own.
I'm wondering what I can do while they're working or what are some of my options for going out at night. I don't really want to feel cooped up all day and would really like to experience London at night. They have kids so I know they wouldn't be able to tour me around after sun down.
Any opinions will be helpful thanks.
Roller discos. Does such a thing exist ? And if so where ??
Have a bizarre urge to don a neon tutu and whizz around in a circle whilst sipping cocktails.
I'm thinking about our next holiday, around September or October 2013, and we are thinking of going to England. We have already been to Scotland and we loved it, but now we decided to check England. I need help in checking where we can base ourselves. Now to start with we are a couple, no children, aged 30 and we like museums, cities, culture, castles and nice landscape. We use buses and trains to travel around. Now, I will fly to London Heathrow and back from London Heathrow, according to flights I land at London heathrow at around 9.30am UK time. I am thinking of the last 5 or 6 days to spend them in London and do 2 day trips from there...your help is here: What other 2 bases I can use and I can even do nice day trips from there? So London definitely, then I need to other bases...I'm ready to take a 3hr train from London after the flight to start from the North. ... more »
I'm an Australian who overstayed my working holiday visa in the UK about 4 years ago (as my partner came over to the UK a few months after me). We left just before his visa expired to travel Europe, when we tried to come back in via Calais to sell van before going to Canada, I got denied entry and had to stay in Europe while he was allowed back in to sell van (totally understandable and I was expecting that).
My question now,is: We are looking at flying to the UK for a month to organise our visas to get Trans-siberian on way back to Australia. I want to know if anyone knows of a site that can be more helpful or had a friend in same position. As it would be easier to do visas while in UK but I don't know what the chances are of them letting me back in.
We would stay with family/friends so wouldn't have to pay for accommodation, we have saved up enough money to support us and buy... more »
Was suggested by a friend to go on here to get some help and opinions. I am going to London(nov. 8-12) first time ever and trying to go the budget route and get a hostel for those days. I am hoping to explore the city and check out some main attractions and obviously hit up some pubs.
Can anyone suggest a good location/hostel to stay in? I am traveling alone and am 34 so prefer to have a private room as oppose to a bunk bed set up.
any idea would be welcome.

How much does a Mc Donald's combo (Big Mac, Coke and fried potatoes) cost? Thanks!
What's the easy way to get from terminal five to the Yotel Hotel located in terminal four? Use local bus or express train?
I have an 8 hour layover at Healthrow on Christmas Day. I realize that most stores, etc., in the area will be closed, but would like to at least get out of the airport for a couple of hours - even if it's just to get some takeaway. Does anyone have any recommendations? Any local parish churches that will have services in the afternoon?
I was thinking of maybe going to Windsor, but am not sure if anything will be open there.
Has anyone used Sabbatical Homes for long term stays in London? Am looking at spending May , 2013 in London and would like a flatto cut down on exppenses.
Has anyone used a good UK immigration agent? I need to apply for Citizenship by descent for my daughters quite urgently and I'd love a personal recommendation.
On The BBC News channel this morning....
I haven't read through it all, but it seems weird. A proposal for a 2nd runway to be built at LGW.
My belief is that LGW already has 2 runways, but only one is ever used at any one time.
Am I missing something?
Come on you airport gurus.... What's going on?
