What are some Doctor Who themed travel destinations worth visiting?
Will start from Bristol around 1 PM on Friday next weekend, stop by and walk around in Bath for couple of hours and then will head to wales. Any suggestions on the route ? My coach back from Bristol to London is Monday morning 530 so ideally should be back by Sunday night. So have about 3 nights and 2 days. Was first thinking of North wales but probably the terrain will be difficult and we have a old car which might not be able to handle it. So now thinking of going Westwards. At the moment, planning to stay first night in Brecon (not sure if there is anything around for the evening.. any quaint village/pubs ?) and go to the national park in the morning and then head westwards towards Carmarthen .. all the way till the end, depending on how the drive goes ?
Any suggestions on the route, place to stay, tips, any villages/places worth covering will be great. We are flexible so please f... more »
We would like to stay at a bed and breakfast in London, or around London. We will be staying with our college age daughter, who is studying abroad there. Our price range is around 100.00. Does anybody have any recommendations? Would it be cheaper to stay outside of London and travel into London, or would that be less convenient?
I am going to be in Edinburgh for some time in the summer, and I will want to do 1 or 2 day trips from the city to the highlands via train. I have no problem with long train rides on a day trip there and back, and I'd like to do something in the outdoors. I'm thinking 1 trip should be a guided tour from Edinburgh to Loch Ness by bus (are those worth it, I am considering scotline tours this one http://www.scotlinetours.co.uk/tours/show/loch-ness-glencoe-and-the-highlands) and I would also like to do another highlands trip. I heard Aviemore is a good destination for the outdoors but I'd also like to hear some other ideas.
I am thinking of staying in the Easyjet hotel in Earls Court. Has anyone stayed there and do you recommend it? If not, please advise problems. Any other recommendations for 'cheap' hotels in London would be appreciated. Alternatively has anyone stayed in any of the Tune Hotels in London and would you recommend them?
What would be the easiest way to get from the Isle of Cumbrae to Eastbourne?
Any recommendations for curry houses and hostelries (ales) round Kings Cross.
In May I'm moving to the UK to start a 12 month working stint there, and I can't decide whether to start off in Edinburgh or London. I have experience in everything from marketing to journalism to retail plus barista and pub training, and don't mind what sort of work I do, I just want to be able to pay rent and save enough for trips to Europe (I see myself working for 3-4 months before travelling, then returning to work for another 3 months etc).
I have a British Passport, and I think I would prefer to try Edinburgh first but is there much temping work or the like available there? My searches of job sites have been rather disappointing. (As I was living in Sydney for the 2000 Olympics I'm not fussed about missing the London ones.)
I would love some advice from fellow travellers!
Hi Guys, so in April I will be visiting a friend in London for 2 weeks. She will have to work for about 4 days while im there so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what I could do? I am 25 year old female, and I have never travelled alone anywhere, I love being with friend so it may be a little weird for me. Besides the ususal museums and such is there anything I should really do while I am there? Any suggestions would be great, thanks!
Can anyone recommend specialist travel agents in London for finding cheap flights to less visited countries? In my case I'm looking for a flight to Iran and was wondering if there are any travel agents (perhaps those catering to the Iranian community in the UK) that could offer a cheap deal. Is it even possible these days for travel agents to beat internet fares whihc at the moment are very expensive for April? I am prepared to fly with pretty much any airline.
Has anyone checked this company out....
They seem new - and having looked at their site for half an hour or so, I'm struggling to find anything that's exciting or better than what's already available.
If you've had better luck, please let me know - as I'm always up for checking out any new flight companies/agencies....
Thanks a bunch.
I will be meeting an old friend in Europe this June. While most of my other trips to EU have been very cultured affairs, I'm planning the latter half of this one to be mostly burning it down, partying through the UK, Paris, and Amsterdam. Where in London should we stay to be close to the nightlife? I will still be hitting most of the museums, and doing all the cursory tourist things, but my main concern is being near the highest concentration of good bars.
Also would Dublin be a good diversion if our time was limited to say 5 days, for this leg of the trip, or will the London area keep us busy?
I'm planning a week in/around London in June 2012. I'm a single woman, traveling alone, and on a budget. So, I'm looking for safe, clean, and inexpensive lodging in a hostel, guesthouse, or B&B for approximately $75 per night. Close to a tube station, preferably near Picadilly. Any info would be a great help. Thanks!
I live in Marseille and if somebody asked me where to stay or what neighbourhood to choose to go to the pub, I would gladly help them. So my friends and I will be in Belfast at the end of April and I was wondering if you could advise us. We are all 40 and we like local bars and music.
