In in Hue and looking to do a private DMZ tour. Possibly 2 days. I'm trying to contact the famous Mr Vu to see if he is free over the next few days but I can be a bit flexible on dates especially as I'll be passing back this way soon.
Anyone fancy sharing the car and cost with me?
I was going to do his 1 day hamburger hill tour then his 1 day DMZ tour
More info on Mr Vu at www.annamtour.com
Hopefully I will get to speak to him tonight
Thinking of taking an overnight sleeper bus to Kampot,or Sihanoukville from Siem Reap. Anybody out there done this? How much actual sleep should one expect? How comfortable for 6 foot tall man? Any other advice....Thanks!! I've seen a similar post on the next page that says night bus is dangerous...but wondering if anyone has any real experience with it....

I am Austrlian, I am living Singapore now. I worked for BBC in UK. I have been to Vietnam many times before and used visa on arrival from many companies in Vietnam.
In February 2014, I will go on business in Vietnam, I will stay there in 2 years. I contacted some companies to ask for 6 month visa but just only this company can make 6 month visa for me. http://www.VietnamVisaOnline.net/
The great thing is they said to me that they could make residence card me in two years. This means that I can stay in Vietnam without asking for visa again and again.
Who made visa with this company yet?
I read many comments from other people about this company, I see they received god comments.

I was on the ride from Hpa An to Mae Sot a week or so ago and while climbing the mountain, traffic came to a standstill due to road maintenance (don't worry, it hasn't been paved yet). So everyone got out of their cars and while waiting, a guy came up to me and started chatting. The conversation came around that he was Myanmaran and in a music band from Yangon. He told me they'd been together for 10 years and sang everything except Hip Hop and everything they did was their own original writing. When I asked jokingly if they were famous, he replied yes. He said the name of his band is Penny Trader - not a translation from the name, that's the name. There's nothing to be found on them on the net, but then I realized they haven't really had the internet to advertise. So just wondering if anyone's heard of this band, and if so, where I could find some info on them or samples of the... more »
Does anyone know if the date(s) for Burma's general elections in 2015 have been established?
Hi, I’m planning to travel Vietnam from Oman. I did try to find information about requirement to be able to enter Vietnam such as visa requirement, but I am not sure whether I as an Omanis national can get visa to Vietnam conveniently or not. Some news I read said that Vietnam visa requirement for Omanis is stricter than for others. Some others said Omanis can get visa on arrival quite easily as Vietnam visa on arrival service for Omani citizens on visaforvietnam dot org. Can anyone know exact procedure to get a Vietnam visa? My trip is coming soon but I still wonder about this issue.
I've been working and saving up money to go on my first backpacking trip. I'm still saving, and probably won't be going anywhere until early summer BUT I can't help but dream of far away destinations. I have been struggling very hard with deciding on where to go. I'm an 18 year old female and this trip will be a solo one. Ultimately I want to go everywhere so it is hard for me to just pick a place to go without having any experience! And since flights are rather expensive, I think I should keep this trip in one "area" of the world. I hope to have between $6000 - $10,000 saved for this (including flights!).
Nepal really intrigues me. I want to experience the culture and see the beautiful landscape. I would like to hike the Everest base camp (ANY info/tips/etc on that would be GREAT). So I think maybe this will be my focus for this trip. Do you think that's a goo... more »
I'd like to try to capture the stereotypical view of Angkor Wat from the reflection pools, I'm a stubborn photographer not content with just a snapshot therefore I will doubtless have to return many times. I know there is a $60 one week entrance fee but I wondered if the reflection pools are even within the complex at all. I'm hoping I can access the reflection pools without cost ?
Sorry for the extremely broad-brush question and I realise that I may get an answer of 50% Cambodia and 50% Vietnam...but...
I have always wanted to visit Angkor Wat and have heard wonderful things about Cambodia from friends who have visited. However, I've also had similarly rapturous reports about Vietnam. So in short, we can't decide. Ideally we'd like to do both but as it's our honeymoon, we'd like to spend less time travelling and more... more »
I traveled from Laos to Siem Reap and forgot some Lao KIPs in my pockets. They can't be exchanged outside the country so here's a good deal for you fellow travelers who are heading to Laos:
You will get my 334 000 KIP for 25 USD (they are worth about 40 USD). I really just want to get rid of them. I am staying in The Siem Reap Hostel until 18th Dec. drop me a message: email@example.com
How can we get from Luang Prabang to Muang Ngoi ?
I heard there are boats from L P to Nong Khiaw but I also heard rumours about a new road which opened
recently. From where are the boats in LP leaving ? Are there still boats from Nong Khiaw to Muang Ngoi ?
We will be there by the end of december.
Any tips for those places. thanks . heinoo
Does anyone have any experience with sending packages to Cambodia? Is it possible and could we send it to a post office or tourist office? Or maybe to a hotel?
I'm asking this because my girlfriend and I are travelling through Asia for 1 year and we need new contact lenses and the liquid. We need a place to send it to, so we hope that somebody can give us a tip.
So, I heard that most of the markets in Ha Giang District take place on certain days of the lunar calendar. I tried to figure out the dates myself now, but only ended up more confused than before.
Does anybody have the exact market dates for late December 2013, early January 2014?
I was wondering if anyone has the latest info on doing a Chinese visa run to Vientiane? I'm in Beijing right now and thinking of doing something a little different from the usual HK visa run. I'm prepared to do all the paperwork (this is China we're talking abt, paperwork is a given) but I'd hate to prep everything, get there and then get turned down so are the chances good? I've been on a work visa for the past two years so I don't have a recent history of visa runs.
My boyfriend and I are flying from Luang Prabang, Laos, down to Singapore, and have an 11 hour layover from 9pm to 8am in Hanoi. I've been trying to figure out if the airport stays open 24 hours, as we plan to just stay there the night, but have been finding some places saying it closes after the last flight, and others saying it's open 24 hours.
Does anyone know if the airport is open 24 hours?
P.S. We flew into Hanoi Airport in October from Tokyo, so we're aware that it isn't the most desirable airport to spend a night in, but we also know that there aren't many hotels nearby and would rather not spend the money to get out to a hotel and back (though we do have multi-entry visas).
