Manilla to Puerto Galera - How?
Hey guys,
I get to Manilla on Sunday evening and want to make my way to PG on Monday - don't want to fly. Understand it involves a bus and then a ferry but beyond that I have no idea - can anyone help me with how to get to PG from Manilla?
Thanks,

Batam to Jakarta by Pelni.
I am interested in travelling from Batam to Jakarta on a Pelni ship. Does anyone know the timetable for the ships arrival and departure from Batam to Jakarta in Feb 2012? I did look at the Pelni website, but it did not show Batam as a departure point. Thanks for any help.

Hi everyone,
Does anybody saw ojeks for hire in Kintamani? I plan to stay in Kintamani for half day after going to Mt Batur, so I just need a one-way transport to go back to Ubud.
Thank you.

malaysia islands...culture and coral on a budget
Hi...I'm after some more advice about islands in malaysia.
Like I said on my previous post...love someplace with great off beach snorkelling and chilled family vibe and on a backpacker to flashpacker budget. Local culture is a bonus (little fishing village to get some tasty snacks)
I got some great info back (but not sure how easy they will fit in out itinerary) and now have more few questions...
Our trip is now in July (not June...):
We have three weeks and will first be going to Sarawak...mostly around Kuching > Bako National Park, Semmongoh etc
Q1. How is Semantan? sounds like not so much beach paradise....then how about Telok Melano?
so thinking of then flying into penang from kuching and checking penang then heading down the west coast to Pangkor (option a) :
Q2. How is Pulau Pangkor? (i don't read favorable reviews on this forum..is it so bad??...i think sou...

Transit at Changi Airport
Hi guys I was just wondering if you could help me! I am looking at booking a flight from Perth to Singapore on Tiger airways and it arrives at 2:50am at the budget terminal, and then we are hoping to fly out to London with Malaysia Airlines which departs from terminal 2 at 6:45am. Do you think we will have enough time to go through immigration, customs, baggage etc and get to terminal 2 in time? I would've thought it would be plenty of time but the Changi airport website says to allow at least 4 hours! Has anyone done it in less time?
Thanks :)

Suggestions for one week with a range of activities
We are currently in Manila looking for our next destination. We want it all! Some nature hikes, a beach, a small town. Surfing would also be great but not essential. Good food is important to us as well as a couple of bars. Maybe something in the Vasayas? We just came down from North Luzon and we don't want to move around much anymore so we're hoping for a place that has lots to offer. We have about one week. Any suugestions?
Thanks!

Bali and Lombok Itinerary and questions
Hello everyone we are planning our honeymoon to bali and lombok for july-aug.
Just wondering if what we have come up with sounds good.
We are on a budget of about $80 - $100 a day not including transportation, would that be enough for us to have a comfortable time? we don't drink, but live to eat local food.
-Arrive at 2:30 pm get private car/driver to Amed (price aprox on the car ?)
stay in Amed for 4 nights (this is our splurge place)
-get private car/driver to Munduk (again price? places to see along the way? we thought that if we go to munduk before ubud it will be easier to get to the airport to fly to lombok and less back tracking)
-Munduk - 3 nights ( to much time?) Also would Sidemen be a better option? we want to do lots of hiking in a mountainous area
-Ubud - 5 nights
fly to Lombok
-Kuta - 6 nights, to much time? we though we could do day trips. has ...

Dive Phillippines in 10 days
We are planning our honeymoon to Philippines from 26.03.12 to approx the 5th/7th of April 2012.
We arrive in Cebu early morning on the 26th March and fly out to Borneo on or around the 5th of April 2012 from Manila.
Of importance for us to consider in respect of public transport is Easter Weekend, and related celebrations in Philippines. 6th April is Good Friday (marking the end of the Holy Week). Does Manila shut down, or will we be able to get to the airport (not sure which airport in or around Manila we will be flying from yet).
We would like to dive several locations, could anybody reccommend us an itinerary or just some ideas, please?.
The plan is to work our way from Cebu to Manila. We are thinking: Visayas (Malapascua Island - Monad Shoal for threshers and mantas), Donsol (for whale sharks), Siquijor (??), Bohol (Cabilao Island), Mendoro (Apo Reef and Puerto Galera)....

Manila Airport to South Harbor and general hostel questions
Hi there,
I'm flying into Manila on tuesday, arriving at 11:45am. There is a ferry to Iloilo at the south harbor that I would love to take, but it leaves at 1:45pm. Now, this doesn't seem too likely that I'll make it. What, if any, public transportation can I take to the South Harbor, and is it even likely that I'll make this ferry? If I took a cab do you know how much it would cost
If not, no biggie I guess I'll take another one. There is a ferry the next day to Bacolad that I could take. But I still would like to know how to get to the harbor regardless. :)
Also, I've been looking up some cities, such as Iliolo, and I can't find any budget (<US15 hostels online). Is this something that I need to bargain for when I arrive? Is it even possible to find budget dorm rooms in many phillipine cities?
Thanks for your help.

Cabilao Accommodation
Hi, I'm planning on going to Cabilao in Feb. Does anyone know what the accommodation options are there? I know there are three resort type spots but would like to know if there are also any cheap guest houses or bungalows available there and if so are there any recommendations! Thanks

Trip to SE Asia March-April 2012
Hi, we are planning a four week trip to SE Asia and are having trouble deciding on an itinerary. So far we are thinking we want to spend a few days in each of the following:
-Singapore
-Kuala Lumpur
-??Beach in Malaysia...maybe Tioman, the Perhentian islands or Langkawi
-Siem Reap/Ankor Wat
-Bangkok
-??beach in southern Thailand...maybe Ko Lanta
-Bali - Ubud and a beach
We are having a hard time deciding on whether to go to a beach in Malaysia or Thailand. Should we skip Bali all together given our time frame so we have time for a beach in Malaysia and Thailand? Where are the best beaches? We want to relax and snorkel so the less crowded the beach the better. Any suggestions on our itinerary would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
