My friend and I probably wanna join a longhouse tour to Skrang River via B&B Inn 25-27 Sept 2012.
Skrang River Safari and Home Stay. 3D/2N trip for RM550 per person.
- 240km away fom Kuching
- 2hours by river boat safari
*Stay in the Longhouse with local, not guest house
*Traditional cooking in bamboo
They only need a minimum of 4 pax, anyone else thinking of doing this tour those days as well?
Hi, We are planning to take a flight to Ternate in Moluccas. I have no experience of booking indonesian flights online,
but usually do so, for example in India.
My question is if you get better rates from an ticket agent in Indonesia??
Any answer most welcome
I have just started my travels in Indonesia from Bali but I am looking for other type of atmosphere. I am a backpacker so I am looking for some backpacking atmosphere, small reggae parties on the beach!
Can any advise me where I'll be able to find this type of holiday?
I am looking for a cruising company in Bali / Lombok / Flores? I am interesting in a boat "expedition" to see the remote islands in indonesia for some days? The standard should be basic and cheap! Do you have any recommendations? I did research and found Kencana Tours but the website is out of work. Do you have any contact details?
Thanks for your quick answer in advance!
I will be spending my vacation in the Philippines for 13 days with my GF. We have plans to go north to Sagada, then return to Manila and fly south. I have been asking around and I am torn btw El Nido and Boracay. If I go to El Nido I will only have time to be on the island of Palawan. However, if I go to Boracay I can hop further south to different islands. I just want to know your experiences, suggestions, likes and dislikes. Thanks for your help
I wonder if anyone can help us please.
We have two days to stay in Manila to finish off our amazing 6 month travelling, and have decided to stay in a nice hotel, but we are looking for a hotel with an outdoor swimming pool and close to green hill shopping mall.
If you know of any please can you help us. Thankyou very much.
Just wondering if anyone has taken the Kuda Hitam2 fast boat from Amed to the Gilis yet. I found a picture online that says it's "new for 2012" and it looks much bigger/nicer than the fast boats that were running from Amed. Anyone tried it yet? Was it reliable, seemingly safe, etc.? How was the ride and how long did it take? I'm a little sketchy about boats in developing countries after many dodgy experiences. Here is a link to the picture I found, if I'm allowed to post it:
Not even sure if we're going to the Gilis yet, still tweaking the itinerary, but going one way from Amed and then flying to Java might be a possibility for u
I arrive in Kuala Lumpur at the start of August after exhausting my 60 days in Indonesia.
I will have 30 days left before I fly home from KUL
I was thinking of spending my 30 days in East Malaysia but recent posts suggest it will be crowded and booking for accommodation difficult. Added to this will be the Ramadan factor.
Also is the fact that there is a government warning for the north east coast of Sabah- pirates or terrorists or similar.
If it wasn't the wet season further north I would head there into South East Asia. I don't like rain!
Go to East Malaysia or can you suggest another and better place to spent early August/ earlySeptember 2012. Maybe the Philippines or I could head back into Indonesia for a second time with a renewed visa.
All suggestion appreciated
I am looking for things (preferably cheap things) to do in Lovina, Bali. Any thoughts?
I am looking into going to Indonesia and part of the trip would like to spend 3/4 nights at a health retreat/spa facility. I am in my early sixties. Perhaps in the Ubud area or a quieter part of Bali? Any suggestions?
We are landing in Singapore next August 12. After few days there, we have not yet decided between Borneo and Indonesia for 18-19 days. if we choose Indonesia, we are evaluating two possibilities: Java (jakharta, Yogyaharta, Borobudur, Prambanan+CAndi+Mt Bromo+Bali (maybe Lombok as well) or Bali + Lombok + flores (komodo rinca Kelimatu for sure).
In case of option 1, is Solo worthwhile a visit? I am worried that there is too much sea in option 2
Is it possible to go around by public transport (bus or train)? Is not really advisable to rent a self drive car, driving during the day, mainly out of the main cities?
What about Malaria, Malarone is needed?
End of Ramadan will really effect the trip?
thank you all for your kind reply!

Looks like I will have 4-5 days available in my itinerary to allow a visit to Malaysian Borneo.
1. Sabah or Sarawak? I don't think there is time to do both. Any thoughts on which is preferable?
2. I would be there in late February, so in the rainy season. Is it worth it at all or should I stay on a sunnier beach in Thailand and do Malaysia another time?
I have researched the activities available in both and see plenty to do in either Sabah or Sawarak.
It's about having the time.
I like cultural things, outdoor activities, diving, general site-seeing and walking/trekking (not a 5 day Death March in the jungle though!).
3. Plan on taking the Jungle Train on the east coast of the peninsula. Once again, is it worth it in the rainy season?
If anyone has been there during the rainy season, I would appreciate comments on the weather and visibility.
It's about the weather. ... more »
