HSK Learning material
Hi, in february I will be in Singapore for 2 or 3 days. What is the best place to buy some learning material for different HSK-levels? I'm just at HSK1 but thought that maybe Singapore could be a nice place to buy additional stuff for learning Chinese since Singapore like China uses the "short signs" of chinese writing.

Indonesia Travel Organizer
Looking to go either later summer or early fall. Would like to get as much in as possible in about 2 weeks - dragons, apes, Bali (or similar beautiful place with nice accomodations) and diving. Can anyone suggest a good, reliable travel organizer? Someone who understands creating a unique schedule around my goals, not just a cookie cutter pre-packaged thing. Any suggestions for itineraries would also be greatly appreciated.
Much thanks,
-Graham

Sleeper buses from JB (or Singapoire) to Kuala Terengganu
LP Malaysia ... is sketchy on details but does indicate there are buses from JB's Larkin station to Kuala Terengganu (~30RM, 8 hours). Are any of these buses sleepers? Not just reclining seats, but (horizontal) berths? How can I contact particular bus companies to make bookings, find schedules, etc.?

Can't even get into the country without .......
Just recently arrived in Jakarta and after departing the plane headed for the visa application. First stop is the booth to pay the $25 visa fee. Next stop is the booth where the visa is stamped. This is where I ran into the problem. The "official" at this booth said I needed the paperwork showing my hotel reservation. I explained that the place where I was going to stay did not take reservations. Well, we went around the subject for a bit until the "official" said "If you help me, I will help you". I stood there for a minute asking him to clarify what help he was looking for. He avoided my questions. Guess he got tired of my not slipping some cash to him and finally said "OK, I will let you through this time". After stepping out of the airport, I headed for the Damri bus to go to central Jakarta. You have to turn left and walk all the way down to the end of the walkway, m... more »

Places to stay in the philippines for $10 a night or less.
I have been looking around the philippines for places to stay which cost $10 us dollars or less a night.
and the best I have seen are the 22 GV hotels www.gvhotels.com.ph prices from Just php330 a night.
thats a fan room for two people with own bathroom and tv.
you can now book all 22 GV hotels on line. (and more to open soon).
they now have 3 in Cebu. also on bohol island. and Camiguin island. all over mindanao island. and Leyte/Samar islands
Also good are the 10 (Sampaguita tourist inns) prices from php150 a night.
Deat.Naga2x.Legaspi.Masbate.Cebu2x.Davao1x.G.santos.
also Ong ban pension houses www.ongban.com now open in iloilo and bacolod. fan rooms from php150 a night.

Best place to propose in the Philippines?
Hi all,
I am doing some reasearch on where are the most popular, extoic and romantic places to propose to your partner in the Philippines.
I'm lost for ideas so any thoughts and recommendations would be fantastic! We are based in Hong Kong and looking to go away on vacation and thought this would be a great time to propose.
I’m keen to find out if there are any places you have heard about, thought about, or even proposed to your partner at that you’d be happy to share.
I’m also looking for original ideas/places that would make a good location to capture my proposal on camera.
Any ideas, tips thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Traveling during Ramadhan
I'll be going to Bali for a week in the middle of Ramadhan this summer and am wondering how much it'll affect our trip? We'll be spending most of our time around Kuta, will the bars still be open late and restaurants be unaffected because of the large number of tourists?
And how will day trips work? I was hoping to get to Ubud and see some sights along with the Monkey Forest...would it be closed?

Cheap accom Pagudpud
Hello, we are heading up to Pagudpud for a few days soon and I was reading that there isn't much cheap accom. Is that true? We are looking for something close to the beach at under 1000 pesos a night. Will we be able to find something? Recommendations would be great, thanks!
