Hello, I would like some information regarding the bus route from Kota Kinabalu to Sukau. We have to travel this route because the flights to Sandakan are fully booked the week we are in the country. So, are these buses reliable and comfortable for that long distance? Also, I have heard it can take 2 hours to Mt. Kinabalu and then two more hours to reach the junction for Sikau, where we plan to get off. Could anyone confirm these distances? Finally, would there be much difficulty in getting a ride from the junction into Sikau? Thanks in advance.
How is Coron these days after the typhoon ? Whats the possibility of turning up there to lend a hand .Is it needed ? Possible ?
Im thinking of visiting Palawan in Phillipines for some beach time .Is it possible to buy 'tabacco' there ? Thinking it would be nice at the beach .
I will only have 3 days and 2 nights to spare for Lake Toba from Medan and I'm wondering which is the best/ fastest way to go there. I'm seeing limited info and most of them are not updated (saw an article that I should take a bus near the airport - but this one refers to the old airport and not the new one so its kind of confusing there).
Thanks in advance!
I'm heading to Amed tomorrow or the day after from Ubud and I'm wondering what the best area to stay in is. Amed? Bunutan? I'm traveling on my own so I'd like to be somewhere with some activity and the chance to hook up with other travelers. I'd also prefer to be able to able to walk to a decent snorkeling beach. I will not have my own transport once I get there. I will probably arrive by taxi since so far there are not enough people for a shuttle to run. Recommended interesting short stops on the way if I end up having to do a private taxi? Accommodation recs in the 200-250,000 range? Would love a pool and a sea view. Given that it's low season it seems that price should be realistic. I may or may not dive there but it seems all dive companies will pick you up so I don't think I need to stay right where the diving action is. Hoping for a quick reply since I'm on my way soon. I'm travelling into Puerto Princessa with my husband and 1 year old daughter in Jan for 7 days, can I please get recommendations on what to do? I know quite a few things will be out given she's so young, keen to hear from those who've been there with young kids. Thanks!
I've looked around the forum here and it helped answer one of my questions (if passport size photos will tend to work for travel visas, which it seems they do). What I'm wondering now is whether it makes more sense to have a number of passport photos printed here at home (say, 20 of them) and have them on hand. I fear, though, that this would be a costly exercise.
What are your thoughts? Is it better to obtain a bunch at home before leaving or just pick them up as you go once you're over there? For what it's worth, I will mostly be in this area of the world (SEA), if that makes a difference in your opinion.
need help deciding best boat to take from Bali to Lombok in December(due to rough seas), also times involved?. Can anyone who has travelled by boat share their thoughts on this please, thanks.
I was hoping for some people to give me some advice on travelling as an alone female traveller, 28 years old. I arrive in singapore on new years day and i will be heading to KL then across to the north of borneo, making my way over to the east of borneo and heading down to bali and eventually back up to singapore. I plan to spend one month in malaysia and one month in indonesia.
I was wondering how easy it is to meet people and if it is safe for an alone female traveller. I have done quite a bit of travelling but I have never been alone and im a bit nervous. Any help would be great :) Thanks
I know I can get a 30 day visa free entry stamp on arrival, but am planning on staying for a year. I will have to get a visa for 60 days in country before my 30 day stamp runs out, and then extend that for 4 months, then 6 months.
Is anyone familiar with that process? For the initial visa, what are the requirements, paperwork or things they ask for? What do I need when going in for extensions?
Any advice on this would help. Thanks!

My bf and I are traveling to Philippines in January, 3 weeks, mainly we are gonna be around Cebu, Negros and Panay, because we would love to dive and live as close as possible to the beach.
We are looking for tickets now and we don´t know if we should fly to Manila or directly to Cebu. We think it could be nice to fly to Manila and drive down to Cebu.
Is it something really nice to see in Manila? What about the driving way to Cebu? Is it a nice trip? and if it is... how are things in that area right now after the typhoon? Where is it worthy to stop and what to see?
Our intention is not just to sit in a bus, we like to stop here and there, enjoying everything the country can offers.
Give os your best shot! Thankss

We will be in Singapore next year and would like to visit Indonesia for the day and have a meal somewhere. I have seen there are ferries between the two and a day trip to TP should be possible. Has anyone done this? Does anyone know what the visa requirements would be for Indonesia travelling from Singapore and back. We are German and British. Any tips on what to do in Tanjung Pinang - there is a small island near the main city which has some historic sites - how easy is it to get there? Thanks
I am going to Indonesia for a week, starting on Jan. 6th. I am an experienced female traveler but this would be the first time I am planning to go to a place alone. So I would love to find a travel buddy if possible! I am planning to spend most of my time within the Java Island but would be open to other ideas as well!
Hello from cold cold Canada ( minus 22 celcius last night )
We are shopping for tickets to Manilla from Bali. Been there before with Air Asia via Clark Airport.
Strangely, NO flights available to Clark on their website today...???????? until further notice.
Anyone informed as to what the matter is ? Is it because of the recent weather events ??
Speaking of which ( the typhoon ) does it appear to have hit northern Luzon ( Banau, Segada and the area )
Thank you so much for taking the time to provide the info.
I am in Ubud right now and I have about 10 days before I go to the Gili islands.
I would like to visit the following places:
1.Jatiluwih rice paddies- what is the best place to stay when going there?
2.Munduk - to do an easy waterfall trek - I don't have proper hiking shoes an most of the treks are muddy at this time of year I guess...
3.See the mighty volcanos and lakes, but only from the distance for the reasons mentioned above
4. Relax on a beach and snorkel before taking the ferry to the Gilis.
I am travelling by myself and on a limited budget. Can you recommend good value transportation and places to stay?
