Kota Bharu accommodation with a child

Hi all,
I'll be in KB for a night and want a central hostel that is child friendly. I stayed in a nice home like backpacker place that would be nice with a child but can't remember where it was. Any ideas? Thanks

Bonsai cafe reborn?

Hi, I'm one of many people who was upset to hear that the Bonsai Cafe in Sanur had closed. Now I've read that it's reopened under a new name - "Sands Cafe." Can anybody tell me if this is true? Would love to know - have been saddened by the changes at the Gazebo Beach Hotel, and to hear that the Bonsai was gone made things even worse. Best grilled squid on the planet - my heart was broken to hear I couldn't have it anymore!

Jakarta to Bali with 5-7 days in Java and the remainder in Bali.

Hi folks,

Looking for a little info regarding good trains to take from Jakarta down to Bali. I'm looking to check out Yogyakarta, Borobudur, Bromo and Ljen on my way down. Are there any decent trains that follow that route? If not, what's the best way to go about getting from Yogyakarta to Bromo to Ljen to Bali? Is it possible to do it in 5-7 days with the amount of travel time I've allocated to it?

Ordinarily I'd just arrive and wing it over the course of a couple of weeks/months, but unfortunately I'm pretty limited with time, so it's less a backpacking adventure and more a limited vacation... hence the need for speedy and convenient train. sigh

Anyways, would appreciate any help I could get.
One Love and Mo Fiya!

Raja Ampat - looking for tpeople to share boat hire costs

Hi there

We're arriving in Sorong today to go up to Raja Ampat, and are looking for people to ahare boat costs with. We've got a Papuan friend in Sorong who has a boat which we can hire which should be a lot cheaper than other boats on offer in the area. We are looking for people to share hire costs for a few nights trip to the spectacular Wayag Island (we've been there before and it is well worth re-visiting). Anyone who is interested please reply to this topic.

Thanks very much

Dave

Inexpensive place to stay in Penang

Could someone recommend an inexpensive but clean, and safe place; guest house or hostel to stay in Penang. Also interesting things to do and see with myself and kids while in Penang.

Thanks,

Overland tour through Flores, Indonesia. Eco Flores tours - any experiences

Hi

I want to do a tour of Flores from Labuan Bajo to Maumere 5d/5n.

I have a quote from a company Eco Flores Tours but can't find any reviews of them online.

For two people it's mid $1-2k with everything included apart from spending money and alcohol. I'm finding it hard to gauge if this is a good deal or not. It's a bit more expensive than we were initially budgeting but we're happy to invest if it will give us an awesome experience in Flores.

If anyone has any experiences with them please let me know!

Thanks in advance!

Best Time To Visit

I want to ride my motorcycle all around Malaysia and would prefer to be there at the dryest time.
Is march, april and may the best time to take a three month holiday there?

If not then when would be the best time? I love the heat but dont want to spend every day getting soaked by rain

Bangkok to Manila. Clark and Cebu.

from the Cebu Pacific New timetable Cebu pacific will now be flying from Manila to Bangkok 12 times a week
up from 10 times a week in the Old timetable.
But Tiger airways has cut back on it Clark to Bangkok for 7 times a week to 5 times a week.
Cebu Pacific is still flying from Clark to Bangkok two times a weeks.
and from Cebu to Bangkok two times a week.
so Cebu Pacific now fly out of Bangkok airport 16 times a week.
it still looks like the most low fare from Bangkok to the Philippines is to Clark airport
at around 2500bt all in with a 15 kg bag.
the fares from Bangkok to Cebu seem to be High. but Cebu pacific is the only airline on the Cebu to Bangkok.
it would be nice if Air asia could do the Clark to Bangkok or Manila to Bangkok also.

Visa for Indonesia???

Hi Everyone,

I just read through the main info for Indonesia but I couldn't find my answer.

I have a Canadian passport and my husband has an American one. When we land in Indonesia, how long will we be able to stay? And how can we arrange to stay longer?

Thanks for the answer or for pointing me to the right spot on this site that has the info.

One last question about onward tickets...

Even when one buys a RT ticket, for example, from K.L. to Cebu, one is still yet expected to buy a throw-away ticket to use that back-end of the R.T. ticket when returning to K.L. from Cebu....is this correct? What a pain in the ass air travel is becoming...

Togean vs wakatobi

HI,

I am now in Sulawesi and struggling between going to Togean Islands or Wakatobi.
I am looking for interesting cultural sights, villages, nice dive/snorkel spots, inexpensive lodging and food. I dont want to be surrounded by tourists and resorts.

Then I want to head to Alor and travel along the archipelago all the way west to Sumatra.

Thanks for the advice and tips, I need them urgently.

Cheers!

Gregory
