Once again, the 'Bounty' club kuta is in the news:
Between the Bounty and Skygarden, these 2 clubs are constantly reported in the press with problems. It is well known that the security staff at Skygarden are run by a Bali gang. Tourists are often drugged at this club and the staff are in on the game.
I was in a cab last week and a cabie told me a recent story of being parked outside Skygarden and the security staff approached with a paralytic drunken australian- opened the door and threw him in the back seat. After 30min the cabie was finally able to get the hotel name from the guy. The cabie said that he returned midday the next day to be paid the fare. The Aussie guy was in a bad state still and said his iphone and money was stolen.

My grilfriend and me are flying to cebu on the 20th of December, we will return to Manilla from Bohol on the 5th of january. We want to go backpacking and didn't book anything apart from the airplane tickets. I'm hearing that the period around Christmas is a very busy period around the Phillipines. Do we need to book sleeping accomodations ahead foor Cebu and Bohol? We are not planning on staying in luxury resorts, just budget or midrange accomodations. And what about a ferry ticket cebu-bohol? We probably want to take a ferry towards Bohol around December 28th.
Are money changers in Indonesia accepting the newly issued U.S. $100 bill?
Hi everyone. Just looking to plan ahead for our trip to palawan in january. we arrive into Puerto Princesa at 13.20 on sat 18th jan and we've got approximately 6 days on palawan (fly out of PP again at 14.40 on fri 24th, to Cebu). Im wondering is it worthwhile staying in PP for a night or should we just look to get straight on a bus/minivan to el nido which looks like the sweetest place ever (or even a night bus - does anyone know if there is one?). Do we need to book these buses in advance? Thinking of spending 3 nights el nido and maybe 2 nights Port Barton, is Port Barton difficult to get to? would we be able to get from Port Barton back to PP if we left there early friday morning to catch the flight in PP at 14.40?
Any advice welcomed
Hello, I was wondering if anyone can assist me on this: We are traveling to the philippines and arriving on Terminal 1 at approximately 12:00 PM. We have a second flight at 3 PM on Terminal 4. Is that enough time in between (3 hours) including immigration time in T1, baggage claim, transferring between Terminals, and check in to Terminal 4 (but with no baggage to check in)?
If anyone can help me on this, that would be great!

I am a UK citizen in KL for 4 days from the 7th to the 10th December: in this time, I need to get the vaccination/injection for rabies. Does anyone know where I can do this, and at short notice? Any help would be much appreciated!
hi guys, just sharing the good news about the return of direct flights from manila to Riyadh and Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Thought it may be helpful
This is an amazing forum, don't know why I haven't been using it up to now. This is my first post...I'm sure there will be many more.
I'm a solo backpacker arriving in Pangkalan Bun tomorrow morning. I'm looking for people to share a klotok boat tour with.
The tours are generally three days/two nights or four days/three nights. They go from near Pangkalan Bun up the river into Tanjung Puting NP, you do some treks, observe the nature in the jungle and check out orangu-tans in Camp Leakey, both wild and reintroduced. You stay on the boat for duration. These tours are apparently a lot more affordable with groups of three/four. I will know better prices etc when I arrive in Pangkalan Bun tomorrow.
The more I go off the beaten track the more I realise it could be unlikely I'd find other backpackers to do this tour with. Anybody interested in joining me?
I'd could pote... more »
Hello, can someone recommend somewhere i might be able to buy a decent pair of walking/hiking shoes in KL. I'd prefer merrill/north face brands
Wher is the best place to buy one in Manila ? Can I save some bucks and have a decent snorkelling set before arriving at the beach .
PS Only 5 hours in Manila .! Time enough ?
Hello, I would like some information regarding the bus route from Kota Kinabalu to Sukau. We have to travel this route because the flights to Sandakan are fully booked the week we are in the country. So, are these buses reliable and comfortable for that long distance? Also, I have heard it can take 2 hours to Mt. Kinabalu and then two more hours to reach the junction for Sikau, where we plan to get off. Could anyone confirm these distances? Finally, would there be much difficulty in getting a ride from the junction into Sikau? Thanks in advance.
How is Coron these days after the typhoon ? Whats the possibility of turning up there to lend a hand .Is it needed ? Possible ?
Im thinking of visiting Palawan in Phillipines for some beach time .Is it possible to buy 'tabacco' there ? Thinking it would be nice at the beach .
I will only have 3 days and 2 nights to spare for Lake Toba from Medan and I'm wondering which is the best/ fastest way to go there. I'm seeing limited info and most of them are not updated (saw an article that I should take a bus near the airport - but this one refers to the old airport and not the new one so its kind of confusing there).
Thanks in advance!
I'm heading to Amed tomorrow or the day after from Ubud and I'm wondering what the best area to stay in is. Amed? Bunutan? I'm traveling on my own so I'd like to be somewhere with some activity and the chance to hook up with other travelers. I'd also prefer to be able to able to walk to a decent snorkeling beach. I will not have my own transport once I get there. I will probably arrive by taxi since so far there are not enough people for a shuttle to run. Recommended interesting short stops on the way if I end up having to do a private taxi? Accommodation recs in the 200-250,000 range? Would love a pool and a sea view. Given that it's low season it seems that price should be realistic. I may or may not dive there but it seems all dive companies will pick you up so I don't think I need to stay right where the diving action is. Hoping for a quick reply since I'm on my way soon. Thanks i... more »
