Kota Bharu and Ramadan
Does anyone know if the area shuts down somewhat or altogether for the holiday? Are the various museums, markets, etc., open?

Genting to KLIA/LCCT
Hi,
May I ask if there is a price difference if I take taxi from Genting to KLIA or Genting to LCCT?
Which is more expensive & which airport is further?
Thank you.

Inexpensive place to stay in Penang
Could someone recommend an inexpensive but clean, and safe place; guest house or hostel to stay in Penang. Also interesting things to do and see with myself and kids while in Penang.
Thanks,

Best Time To Visit
I want to ride my motorcycle all around Malaysia and would prefer to be there at the dryest time.
Is march, april and may the best time to take a three month holiday there?
If not then when would be the best time? I love the heat but dont want to spend every day getting soaked by rain

Inexpensive places to sty in KL
I have to go to KL for business and I'm taking my two children ages (17 and 22). We are going to be on a strict budget. Could anyone suggest a few places to stay that are safe, clean, and inexpensive, in KL. My second question is we're leaving KL to go to Penang on a Sunday, Is there a bus that will travel there on a Sunday? and what is the cost?
Thanks!

Insurgency in Sabah
Hello,
I recently learned that there is political trouble in Sabah, resulting and US State deptt travel warnings, danger of kidnappings or guerrilla activity. Can anyone who has been there in the last three months confirm this and does this mean that Northeast Sabah is really off limits to tourists?
Thank you,
Chaco

Niah Caves or Gunung Mulu?
I will be in Borneo in second half of September 2013
Both the Niah Caves and Gunung Mulu NP seem to be awesome places to visit. But, apparently, if you're going to Gunung Mulu NP, going to Niah might not be worth the effort. Any recommendations?
For Gunung Mulu, is your stay (entrance tickets, accommodation, guides, etc...) to be booked ahead?
Thanks for your advice

Advice please! :)
Hi there guys!
I'm look at traveling in early July for only a week or two with a friend. We want a mix of relaxation (the beach??) and culture. I had my heart set on Malaysia, but really know very little about where would be the best to go to experience the best of both worlds. I've also had a quick look at Sri Lanka instead? Any advice at all would be hugely appreciated!
Cheers,
Lauren :)

Perhentians in July
Hi guys,
It seems that trying to book reasonably priced accommodation for July is difficult. I know the question has been asked before but what's it like to find a cheap/mid range place at the start of July if I just turn up? I realise there are booking agents on here that will say you must book ( like everywhere!!!) but is it impossible? I usually ignore the "you must book crew" whenever I travel but I'll have my 6 year old this time so I need a safety net.
Terimah kasih

vaccinations for Sarawak Sabah and Penninsular Malaysia
Hello,
I'm going to Malaysia for a month this July and am getting a bit worried about the health risks when I read the CDC website or other infectious disease centers. We want to see some jungle and rural areas but we also want to spend time in cities and beaches. Is the vaccine for Japanese encephalitis really necessary? it will set me back about 1000 euros (for three people) and we won't be in the jungle the whole time. Thanks for any advice or experience sharing.

KL with Family for 5 days
Hi There,
I'll be in KL with wife and 2 Kids 2 and 4 y.o. and I'm looking for accommodation. I know there is no similar place to Khao San Road in Thailand, but I like to know what comes close to it. What area are the backpackers staying, what are the most vibrant places? Hotel recommendations are welcome, budget 300 Ringgit or below.
Cheers
