Budget accommodation near Manado airport?
Our flight into Manado gets in around 7 pm, and we plan on heading to Bunaken the next day, so we were hoping on staying somewhere close to the airport or the ferry terminal. Does anyone have recommendations for budget accommodations in either of these two locations? Also, will public transportation to the bus and ferry terminal still be running after 7 pm, or will we need to take a taxi? Thanks in advance for your replies!

Riding the bemo in Bali
Hi everyone, I am planning a trip to Bali in Sep and was wondering if anyone here ever rode on a bemo out to Kuta from the airport? If yes, how was the experience like, and was it even easy to "know" when to alight?
Thanks in advance!

Visa extension in Flores after 2months
Hi. I need your help again :)
I want to stay in Indonesia for 4months. In July i'll come to Bali, stay there 1month and extend my Visa on the airport, then i'm going to Flores. Before my Visa expire i'll be on Flores. So what now? Probably i cant extend Visa again,so whats the cheapest option..fly out and make 2months Visa in Thailand,Malaysia,..or go to East Timor? I heard for one strange guy in Flores (mafia guy or something and he has his own driver on motorbike hehe) who can be your sponsor if u pay him..but dont know if its true..
From Flores i want go to Sulawesi or Maluku..that's going to be in September. Hope the weather is going to be still ok :)
Thanks for help!

Bali - transportation - places
My wife and I will travel 2 weeks to Bali (via Singapore) later this year.
December would be the most convenient for us. However the weather doesnt look so promising at that time. Many rainy days, it says. Somebody told that the rain typically comes 1-2 hours every afternoon. Should we trust this - although no promises can be given.
We will probably use Ubud as our main base for a week, taking day trips out.
Then spend some days at a Beach. We are not to night life, so I could imagine that we would prefer Lovina - and not Sanur/Kuta. Any opinions ?
A few days in Munduk also looks good.
How is transportation around the Island - from Ubud to Lovina and around in general.
Any good ideas ?

Help! How to get from Medan to Labuan Bajo (Quickly!)
Hi all
Does anyone know what would be the quickest way to get from Medan to Labuan Bajo? I'm going to be in Indonesia for just over 3 weeks in Aug-Sept this year. The basic plan is to fly in to Medan, spend about 10 days exploring Northern Sumatra, we then wanted to head down to Komodo-Rinca for a couple of days prior to heading back to Bali/the Gili's to relax for a few days at the end of the trip.
It's a hectic schedule but I'd love to make it work, my only concern is that getting from Medan to Komodo looks tricky! Any advise would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers
Patrick

Bonsai cafe reborn?
Hi, I'm one of many people who was upset to hear that the Bonsai Cafe in Sanur had closed. Now I've read that it's reopened under a new name - "Sands Cafe." Can anybody tell me if this is true? Would love to know - have been saddened by the changes at the Gazebo Beach Hotel, and to hear that the Bonsai was gone made things even worse. Best grilled squid on the planet - my heart was broken to hear I couldn't have it anymore!

Jakarta to Bali with 5-7 days in Java and the remainder in Bali.
Hi folks,
Looking for a little info regarding good trains to take from Jakarta down to Bali. I'm looking to check out Yogyakarta, Borobudur, Bromo and Ljen on my way down. Are there any decent trains that follow that route? If not, what's the best way to go about getting from Yogyakarta to Bromo to Ljen to Bali? Is it possible to do it in 5-7 days with the amount of travel time I've allocated to it?
Ordinarily I'd just arrive and wing it over the course of a couple of weeks/months, but unfortunately I'm pretty limited with time, so it's less a backpacking adventure and more a limited vacation... hence the need for speedy and convenient train. sigh
Anyways, would appreciate any help I could get.
One Love and Mo Fiya!

Overland tour through Flores, Indonesia. Eco Flores tours - any experiences
Hi
I want to do a tour of Flores from Labuan Bajo to Maumere 5d/5n.
I have a quote from a company Eco Flores Tours but can't find any reviews of them online.
For two people it's mid $1-2k with everything included apart from spending money and alcohol. I'm finding it hard to gauge if this is a good deal or not. It's a bit more expensive than we were initially budgeting but we're happy to invest if it will give us an awesome experience in Flores.
If anyone has any experiences with them please let me know!

Thanks in advance!

Visa for Indonesia???
Hi Everyone,
I just read through the main info for Indonesia but I couldn't find my answer.
I have a Canadian passport and my husband has an American one. When we land in Indonesia, how long will we be able to stay? And how can we arrange to stay longer?
Thanks for the answer or for pointing me to the right spot on this site that has the info.
