Hey Guys/Gals,
Haven't done this before and I am contemplating doing it. Let's say my International flight into Changi arrives @6am and I wish to catch a 8.45am flight with Tiger.
Is this doable or will I be pushing it to collect my bags and to then check-in at Tiger for the flight to Manila. I understand Tiger closes the check-in strictly at 45-minutes to flight time.
Also is it in the same location, like in T2. I think my flight from Melbourne will usually lands in T3. And I normally catch the shuttle to go to T2.
I guess all this to save the cost of connection to Manila or a long layover like I had last time when I did the MEL-SIN-MNL on singapore only.
Your experience or advice very much welcomed if you have done this.

I have read bits and pieces about an area where a large number of emerging artists, I do NOT mean artists that copy from picture books as in Bangkok and elsewhere, but artists who have make shift studios of sorts in an area of a few blocks. We enjoy roaming and even purchasing quaity work but are not intersted in going to high-end galleries. We can do that anywhere. Do you know where it is and has anyon been there in the past year? We were going to Little India and then hoped to taxi to tis artist district if it is worthwhile. HELP!

Just wondering if there's a better/best place to exchange Chinese RMB in Singapore or if it's all about the same. I'm going to grab some US Dollars here in the PRC for other reasons and can grab more if need be, but if there's no point, I'd prefer the more direct RMB>SGD approach once there. LP is spot-on about Wing Hoi in Hong Kong, but didn't see anything particular about Singapore.
Many thanks for any help/advice.

I'm in Bangkok and will, unexpectedly, be spending several nights in Singapore in a couple of weeks. I was there during January of the last 2 years and found hotel 'walk-in' rates to be much better than those advertised at hotel websites or even the booking services. Is it still that way?? I know Bangkok has 'tightened up' as there are more tourists but am unsure about the situation in Singapore. Thanks for any help from someone who happens to be there or was recently there!!

Just wondering if anyone remembers whether you pay for left luggage at Changi when handing it in or when taking it back? We are arriving quite late at night and I'd rather just drop off the luggage and leave for our hotel without the hassles of changing/withdrawing money. I have enough for the MRT but not for the left luggage, so if you have to pay upfront I'll exchange some SGD before departing.

Does anyone know what month Universal Studios will be open. I have been looking everywhere on the net but with no luck. I am trying to sway my Wife to take the kids there instead of Fiji which doesn't interest me at all.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I am about to book a 3D/2N cruise on Superstar Virgo from Singapore - KL - singapore, but a couple of people have told me they did not enjoy this ship as there was way too much smoking and gambling on board and they did not think it was appropriate or enjoyable for families. Are there non smoking cabins on board?
We are not looking for a romantic experience (!) since our two infants will be with us, but hoping to hear your experiences regarding this cruise ship to help us make a decision whether to go or not.
I don't want to waste 3 precious days of our holiday or lots of $$$ on a cruise if it will be a disappointment!
thanks heaps in advance :)

Arrive at Changi Airport on Jetstar from Perth at 5.40am connecting flight Jetstar 7.30am to Penang, (not much time for pick up luggage, clear customs and board plane to Penang). It must be possible as Jetstar are selling the tickets straight through. Has anybody done this trip with Jetstar and could give us any tips or hints as any stuff ups could result in missed connection?

In early April I have a 5 hour stopover in S'Pore (during the afternoon) while waiting for my connecting flight to Perth. I was thinking about taking a taxi downtown to Orchard road, browsing around the shops there (I don't need to buy anything) and having lunch (Indian or Nasi Padang) in one of the food courts. Does anyone have any better suggestions for me?

So just barely into the New Year and I'm staring at the losing end of a long-term relationship. I'd much prefer to wallow in self-pity in my cold, damp room cursing myself and whoever thought living south of the Yangtze meant no need for proper heating...
...but I need to give my poor mom a bit of an escape from the frozen tundra of the Great Northern Plains (US). She's in her 70s and has wanted to visit Singapore for some time... so OK, Singapore.
I could really use some help identifying a decent hotel choice. I'm a poor teacher, so something in the US$100 or-so range would be helpful. I know that doesn't leave much choice, so I'll probably have to push that higher. We'll be staying over the Chinese New Year, so I'm not sure if that will complicate things.
I've noticed the 2 YMCA properties (one is booked out the actual week of CNY) and keep seeing the 2 Landmark ho...

Has anybody made this trip? I'm looking to organise this trip in advance. I'm travelling in late May/ early June.
Is it worthwhlie organising this through a travel agent or can i just do this when i get into Singapore? As i'm looking to pretty much arrive in singapore and then leave for Endau Rompin the next day.
I'm getting conflicting reports about whether i need to go via a travel agency or just do it myself.
Any advice?

Hello there,
I will be arriving in Singapore on a Saturday night at 22:35 and catch my outbound flight on a Sunday afternoon at 1pm. Now I would like to make the most of my stay in the city and was wondering where I could head between midnight and 6am on a Saturday night.
Are the bars and clubs around Clarke Quay open all night? What about Chinatown or the night market area in Bugis. Are there any other option where to get a taste of Singapore at night? Any watering holes that stay open 24 hours?
Thanking you all very much in advance,
K

I realize that a similar thread has recently been posted but my questions are somewhat different, I apologize if it is sounds redondant...
We are a family of 4, with two teenaged boys. Most summers (ie July-August), we take a 6 week road trip somewhere. We like a slowish rythm, we like to see beautiful nature, hike, snorkel, see animals. After several trips, we realize that we prefer not to travel and change accomodation each day. This year, we have been considering Borneo. At first, we planned to visit Singapore, Malaga, Penang as well but these were eliminated once we became aware of the wealth of things to do and see in Borneo. If possible, we like renting a car and driving (we did this on the east coast of Australia and in South Africa).
So, I have put together a preliminary itinerary and I would love some comments from people who know the area.
Day1: Fly into HongKong
