Americas - South America

I am looking for a long-term-rent possibility in Cusco City Centre from the beginning of July to the end of November 2013. Could be a mini-depa or a shared appartment (with preferably quiet roomies....), needs to have a hot shower, furnished kitchen, WiFi and must be in a safe area. Any hints are welcome. Thanks!
Dear all. Can anyone offer me advice?
I'm a 30-something university-educated British male taking a career break to learn Spanish. I have been learning pretty intensively in the UK for the past six months and I now want to develop my conversational skills and improve my Spanish by spending a couple of months in South America.
I’m particular interested in Argentina but am open-minded about where I end up.
The obvious option would be to sign up one to the Buenos Aires-based language schools but once you add in staying with a host family, lessons, flights etc, you’re looking at thousands of pounds.
I’m looking at other cheaper options.
My Spanish is just about good enough now to do volunteering work. I will work for free in exchange for room and board and the chance to improve my Spanish skills and I will pay my own flight over.
I have a number of skills I can bring.

My girlfriend and me are in Puerto Natales and heading north to Bariloche and then Mendoza. We would love to look into hiring a car and doing some of the famous route but it would be better if there was a couple more of us. Anyone else around up for doing the same and splitting the cost 4 ways?
Returning from Cusco to the US via Lima on the 11th and in theory I will have a 12 hour layover. I welcome any suggestions on things to do. I will have a large backpack with me.
Has anyone managed to get a bus from Rosario to Mercedes? Plataforma10 doesn't show anything for the direct route but I was wondering if its possible to go from Rosario and change somewhere then head up to Mercedes?
I've had a scour of this and other forums and have read conflicting accounts on how feasible it is to get a ticket for a Boca home game.
I will be in Buenos Aires for the game on 19/05/13 against Colon. Does anyone have any recent experience of turning up to the ground on matchday and buying a ticket from a tout? I would prefer to do this than pay over the odds via tangol/landingpa.com if possible.
So on Tuesday I will be coming from Copa getting to La Paz to sort out my Uyuni Salt Flakes tour, I will be going back home from La Paz on Saturday afternoon, so I am wondering should I invest on a 3 day tour around the Salar de Uyuni meaning that I would possible get back to La Paz on Friday night/Sat morning or if I book a one day tour instead I will have more time to get to around La Paz which I have heard is a pretty interesting city to explore and with a lot going on...
So basically my question is if it's worth the 3 day tour around the Uyuni or is pretty much more of the same around the 3 days? Meaning that if so I would probably better invest my time in La Paz?
Also if you have any good tips about transport to/from La Paz to Uyuni would be highly appreciated...
This is my first time in South America... hopefully won't be the last...
Thanks in Advance..... more »

Is it possible to catch a bus from Cruz del Sur at 21:00 o clcok when our flight arrives at 17:45 o clock ?
Do we have enough time for customs etc and the transport by taxi to the terminal of Cruz del sur or another bus company?
Also does somebody have experiences with this website :http://taxidatum.com/ for making a taxi reservation upfront to avoid the hassle? Thanks :) Andrea
I need the opinions of people living in Bogota and Cartegena about safety concerns while traveling. What recommendations or suggestions?
I know to be aware of your surroundings. Split your money in two places. Don't stay out late at night. Stay close to the hotel.
There is a state department warning. But is it safer now than in the past?
Just a quick one. We fly into Lima and arrive at 18.10 on a Saturday evening. Is it possible to get a bus to Paracas that evening? Or do we have to wait until the morning - I see Cruz del Sur stop running at 14.00 on this route.
If you are looking for a good adventure agency in Banos, I recommend Imagine Ecuador. I did a couple trips through them: biking to Puyo and a day trip to Chimborazo. Their bikes are new and well-maintained. The Chimborazo trip was a blast: our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the natural and social history of the region. We hiked from the 1st refugio to a ways beyond the the 2nd refugio before turning back for a wholesome lunch. After lunch, we biked down to Riobamba, seeing lots of vicunas (similar to llamas) along the way. It was a breathtaking ride, starting in the barren, moon-like terrain above the tree line, dropping down into the verdant, lush farmland below. We have so many fond memories of this day!
I highly recommend that you check this place out if you're looking for a good time in Banos:

Need a cleaning, exam, and at least one filling ASAP. Any recommendations/referrals? Flying in & out of Armenia May 3 -17 so prefer Armenia area but may venture to Cali and/or Bogota via bus. Strongly prefer avoiding Bogota. Any thoughts on estimated prices? I've had great experiences getting reasonable dental work in Granada, Nica & Cartagena. Thanks.

Hi! I will be in Colombia in May for three weeks trip and I'm trying to define an itinerary... I'd like to dedicate some days to one of these places:
1.Trekking to la Ciudad Perdida
2.Cabo de la Vela-Punta Gallinas
3.Leticia and Amazonas.
Which one do you suggest? For time and budget I can choose just one.
