Brazil Tourist Visa from BA - prooving overland route out to Bolivia
Hi Everybody,
I'm an Australian passport holder, in Buenos Aires, trying to get my Brazilian tourist visa. I've done a lot of research on this and searched many forums but haven't been able to find the answer I'm looking for to help me out with my problem.
I know what I need to provide in order to get the Brazilian Tourist Visa but I'm having difficulty giving proof of my exit out of Brazil, into Bolivia (overland, not flying!)
I'm staying in Buenos Aires for a further week before going on to Uruguay (Colonia - Montevideo - staying at a cousin's farm near Montevideo) then onwards to Brazil (Montevideo -> Florianopolis - Iguacu, seeing both sides - Sao Paulo - Paraty - Rio). From Rio I'm leaving Brazil to then go to Bolivia. It seems the border crossing at Corumba is the closest spot for me to cross into Bolivia, then I'll be getting the train to Santa Cruz.
I will be getti...

Bus travel between Rio-Ilha Grande - Paraty - Sao Paulo
I will be arriving in Rio at the end of July.
After doing much research on this forum I decided to travel from Rio to Ilha Grande, spend a few days there, travel to Paraty for a few days and then onto Sao Paulo all by BUS before I start my internal flight loop around the rest of the country.
However, after looking at my travel guide it seems like buses only go to Paraty and Sao Paulo from Rio.
Has anyone else done this route before or could anyone give me some more information about the best way of getting to these places as I don't drive.

Brazil, World Cup, family - 3 questions
Hi,
My apologies if this is a duplicate, but i tried to post yesterday, but it didn't show up on the forum.
We are a family of four (two boys aged 6 and 10) who want to go to Brazil during the World Cup in mid June 2014 for 3 weeks (we won't be there for the final games i know). We are planning to see:
1) Manaus
2) Salvador
3) Rio
4) Iguasu
5) Sao Paulo
in that order.
Is this too ambitious? Is there something else we should substitute for our trip?
Second question - I have been reading a lot of warnings in my LP guide about muggings and not carrying anything of value. We generally travel in casual attire, no jewellery and plastic watches, but I do love taking photographs when traveling and want to take my DSLR digital camera. Is this a sure thing to get us mugged? Will the kids be a deterrent to any potential muggers at all?
Third, we are a family of vegetaria...

Personal Guide / Fixer in Rio
Hi,
I'm a photographer traveling to rio in May and I would like a personal guide that knows the area and has insights on the non-tourist area of Rio. If anyone out there has had any experiences with such a guide or Fixer in Rio it would be greatly appreciated. I'm interested in documenting the real people of Rio not just the beach life.
Thanks!!

Oat Milk or Rice Milk in Rio - Brazil
Hi,
We're travelling to Brazil in a couple of weeks with our little boy who has allergies to dairy and soya. Does anyone know if it is possible to buy oat milk or rice milk and if so, in which supermarket chain? While I know Carrefour sell it in Europe, I'm unsure if they stock the same products in Brazil and it would save me bringing cartons of the stuff from the UK :-)
Many thanks

Stupid question, but...
I'm an American who got a visa for Brazil last month (tourist). I put the name of hotel I'd be staying at in Brazil my first night as my "hotel information" and I later got the visa.
Right before my departure, though, I canceled the hotel bc I got an invite to stay with an old friend my first night. I'm in Brazil now and having a great time but somewhat worried that the hotel info I left with the consulate in the US won't have me registered in their system, and thus might flag my stay here.
I don't want to do anything that might cause me problems on my departure or jeopardize future trips here on the same visa and if this is likely to be an issue, I can just re-book a night at the hotel before I leave.
I'm sorry for the silly/paranoid question, but I know some places like Russia take hotel registry seriously and I didn't know if this is something I needed to address befor...
