Iceland, 10 days in June itinerary advice
Hi, I am going to Iceland for the first time from June 2 to June 10. I'm going to spend the first three nights in Reykjavík and then I have one week to tour the country (I have a car hire).
For that week I'm trying to decide whether I should use it for a trip to the Westfjords and the North (Akureyri, Grimsey, Eyjafjorour) or if I should skip the Westfjords and complete the Ring Road?
For the Westfjords, does anyone have advice on whether it's best to go to Isafjorour and then head toward the SW or toward the NE?
Also, if I decide to visit both of these areas and I hired a compact car, is it possible to take Route 35 through the interior back to Reykjavik if I drive slowly so that I can avoid going all the way around the Ring Road or driving back the way that I came?
One other question on accommodation: Do I really need to book ahead for all of my accommodation e...

How much money should i take
I plan to spend 2-2,5 weeks in Copenhagen this July. I will stay in friend's home, but I wonder how much money should I take for food and activities.
I've heard there are tickets that you can use for majority of places of interest. I know it's pretty expensive and I am on tight budget.

Göteborg - Oslo by bus
I'm looking at how to travel from Göteborg - Oslo. Train is an option, but the direct train do not appear to have discounted tickets, while the cheaper train tickets need a change and take 6 hours.
So, I'm considering bus. I looked at https://www.nettbuss.se and it seems that tickets are cheaper if you book just a day or two in advance. Tickets for tomorrow are 109 SEK compared to 259 SEK for early June. Is this normal or not? If I book with that site, will I get tickets sent by email? Will I need to print out the tickets, or can I show a 'code' on my mobile?
Thanks
Appears that the tickets need to be printed out unless sent by sms - probably need a Swedish phone number.

Cheap Lappland winter experience?
Hi everyone,
I've been accepted to spend six months in Sweden on exchange from university, starting in September. The thing that is absolutely on the top of my wishlist to do is to go to Lappland and (hopefully) see the northern lights. However, all the tours I've looked at have been ridiculously expensive. So, what would you recommend as the best place to go to "experience" Lappland on a budget. Also, I'm not massively keen on seeing the traditions of the local people if they're only put on for tourists, I'd rather something authentic to today. Thanks!

Under the Bridges of Stockholm - Discount with Stockholm Card?
I understand the Under the Bridges boat tour is not included in the Stockholm Card, but is it at least discounted? I know the Royal Canal Tour is included (which is 160 SEK), so could you use the Stockholm Card to take the Under the Bridges tour instead (220 SEK) and only pay the difference of 60 SEK (220 -160)?

hiking boots or just good walking shoes
Since I pack really light so I don't have to check luggage and since hiking boots are quite large (of course, I could wear them on the plane but would rather not), I am wondering if for regular sight-seeing of lava, glaciers, coasts, etc. but not real hiking trips, are walking quality shoes good enough or do I really need my hiking boots for such places.
Thanks for input as I am packing my suitcase today!

The Island of Papey
I read about this Island and i wonder if it's worth to visit there because all the tour is taking 4 hours. The papins i'm sure i'll see in other places in the island. I'm touring to the direction of the watch for 19 days. I intend to visit also Westman Island so i know that there will be also a lot of papins.
What do you think about this tour?

Suggested itinerary for 2 full days in Stockholm
I'm going to be spending 3 nights in Stockholm later this month (2 full days) and am looking for suggestions on an itinerary to cover the two full days. I'll be staying in Gamla Stan, so I'll be pretty central.
I'm mainly interested in sightseeing so would rather limit museums as they take up quite a bit of time, something I won't have.
However, I will definitely go to the Vasa Museum.
I'm also going to either do the Under the Bridges boat tour or Royal Canal boat tour.
I've been debating between getting the Stockholm Card or SL Transport card. It seems the Stockholm Card is valuable for longer stays and for seeing many museums, so I'm thinking the 72-hour SL Transport card makes the most sense? I do like to walk a lot though, so I'm not necessarily going to be a very heavy public transport user (even though I enjoy taking public transport).
Any suggestions on 2-day sig...

Stockholm Archipelago - Visiting More Than One Island
Hi,
Sorry, this is actually a follow-up question to my last post concerning visiting the Stockholm Archipelago. Someone mentioned visiting more than one island within the same vicinity in a day trip. I was wondering how i would buy a ticket to do this. Would i need an island-hopping ticket, or is there some way i can make stop-bys with a one destination ticket? Just exploring options.
Many Thanks

International Airport to fly into from East Coast NA?
Morning : )
A bit puzzled on this one ... I'm a US resident living in the Northeast. Last year I had found fairs going about $1,300 from NE, connecting through Copenhagen to Greenland.
I don't recall which destination airport I chose from the couple that come up as international airports ... but whatever it was totally striking out this year as I can't find a single flight from the states to Greenland, even through Copenhagen. Any suggestions on an international airport anywhere in Greenland? I have tried SEVERAL consolidator sites and the only option was a flight out of Ottawa at a ridiculous price of over 3k!! Ideally we would be starting in Boston, or NY ... but can do Montreal or Quebec City as well if no other choice.
Any input would be appreciated ... even if it's doing two separate fairs, one to Copenhagen, another with a Denmark airline to connect us in. I didn...
