Probably been done before, but I can't find anything.
I have a chance to work in Abu Dhabi for a year or two but I don't want to leave my dog behind. I'll have to leave her with a relative for a couple of months, but then want to fly her over.
Does anyone living in Abu Dhabi have any experience of this?
Thanks for your help,
I am an American living in China and I was wondering what the chances are of getting a visa for Eritrea in Abu Dhabi or Dubai? Is it wise to buy a round trip ticket for Eritrea before applying to the visa? How many days would it take to get the visa? I also have the option of applying for the visa at the embassy in Beijing. Thanks.
Advice please.I have heard several opinions about wearing conservative/neat/tidy short pants in this region. Some say its ok others dont. The outside heat/temperature would make wearing short pants more comfortable.I have no wish to offend locals.Replies please.
Can anyone give me advice on bus &/or share taxi travel from dubai or shajah to khasab(oman).Any detail will help.thanks
I can report back that Joint visa did not work on Omani land border via Dubai.
My family members went to Omani land border via Dubai showed the Joint visa) Immigration officials stated that this visa is not valid. When ringing the Omani consulate in Dubai to reconfirm - i was informed by consular officials’ that Joint Visa is valid.
How come the Omani immigration stated visa not valid? When the Omani consulate in Dubai stated it’s valid?
Even when I personal travelled to Dubai) my Dubai visa was valid for 10 days I was informed the joint visa with Dubai is not valid) I was 1 day late) When I showed Immigration officials that stated you visa should be valid for 21 days I had pay 200 AED = £34.50 British pounds.
What advice can members give me) on what course of action I should take?
Look forward to hear from you all.

We are travelling from Australia to Switzerland with 2 day stopover in Dubai. Can we carry in our suitcase duty free wine to give to friends in Switzerland?
Hi, I am going to Dubai on my way to Spain and Morocco soon. Are UAE dirhams to same as Moroccan dirhams?
Hi! I am a new expat here in Abu Dhabi. I have an older British boyfriend who plans to visit me here for a week for the first time. I am planning to stay with him in a hotel so we can spend quality time together. I understand that unmarried couples staying in one room is illegal. However, we miss each other terribly and I can't go on leave just yet, so going to another country is not an option. I know unmarried couples cohabiting without any problems. Yet, they are renting their own rooms. Would i have a problem if I stay with him in a hotel? Any recommendations for a hotel which is less strict? Please help...Thanks...

My wife and I will have an 8 hour layover in Dubai. We get in around 7pm and leave at 3:30 am. We would like to leave the airport, and see some of the landmark buildings. Is this feasible? Any input would be appreciated.
My M friend is living and working in Dubai - not somewhere I've been, but never one to pass up the opportunity of visiting somewhere new (with free accommodation!) I'm considering a short break there later this year.
I have travelled extensively through Syria, Lebanon and Jordan (but with F friends), so am used to dressing modestly, sitting with women in buses / cafes, sometimes wearing a ring on my wedding finger etc. I assumed that the same / similar conventions would apply in Dubai.
However, having read through the many questions on boyfriend/girlfriends visiting Dubai, I wondered if, as a girl visiting a platonic male friend and staying in his (2 bedroom!) flat, I could be courting difficulties for us both. He seems quite laid back about it (as he is about everything!) so I thought I'd just suss out what others think.

Travelling from London to Kuala Lumpur. Stopping at Abu Dhabi. Just wondering what currency I can use at Abu Dhabi Airport in shops? Will have British pounds and Malaysian Ringits. I could also take euros if they were more appropriate. Or can I only use UAE dirham?
Well. At the risk of telling everyone something they already know, let's review the ethereal and mind-altering food experience I have yet to unhinge my thoughts from. Zuma. Several locations, I see, I've only hit this one... assuming there is even the slightest hint of consistency between the units, you should drop your bagel now and hit the road toward whichever location is closest to you! So, some details, in no particular order: Lamb Chops. This menu gets regular revisions (my wife was in several days later and no Chops on menu) so perhaps I will only sell you the idea of the dish, but this robata-grilled beauty was... indefineable. Exquisite rich melted smoky unctous flavor, bits of crisped fat bobbing around a thick eye that was hot and melty... that smoke! Freakish. Really. I've always loved the grill, but this charcoal robata has something unusual going on. Please call... more »
Can I buy postcard and stamp at Abu Dhabi airport and find a postbox there?
Hi, I'm hoping that somebody can throw some light on the following matter.
My wife and I are South African citizens living in Oman. Our daughters are flying out here later this year for a visit. We were considering taking them to Dubai by road for the last few days of their holiday, then putting them on their home flight to SA in Dubai, after which we would drive back to Oma.
We hear that as an SA citizen on a visit visa to Oman, they would not be able to buy a visa at the border post, as the UAE athorities have changed the rules, and visa for SA citizens can only be obtained at the airport if they fly in. Apparently, this is a recent change that was made by the UAE authorities.
Has anybody maybe got an alternative as to how we can get them visas?
