Desert village Toudeshk
I have just spent a very nice night in the small village Toudeshk not far from Isfahran.
In LP there is a small note saying about Toudeshk, and Mohammad Jalali who run a homestay there. And everything is realy true, it is a wunderfull place to spend some days while you are in Iran. The name of the homestay is Tak Taku
The home is centered around a courtyard where it is possible to relax, have tea and a good chat with Mohammad and his family.
For me it was very relaxing after Tehran and Isfahran just to sit there and enjoy life. Mohammad can guide you around in the small village and tell many stories about life there. In the evening i walk myself to a nearby hill, from where the sunset was very nice.
During your stay it is possible to have a bike and just go around for yourself, or ask for a tour to "the real desert", and a sand-desert as we know from movies. Climbing the hugh do...

Bahrain Update
Hi guys,
Is it safe for foreigners to visit? Are there still daily protests? are they violent in nature?
I am heading there soon and am quite nervous- any information would be welcomed!

Situation on the ground
We will be travelling in Jordan/Israel in August and so are now following the news in the region quite closely owing to Syria.
Can anyone report on the vibe in Israel at the moment?
Thanks.

Have you travelled from Jordan to Israel- Tel Aviv or Jerusalem?
Hi, I and wife want to go to Palestine, Israel for 6 days in Aug 2012 end. Planning to land in Amman, Jordan, stay for a night, next day, take a bus or Taxi which ever is convenient to Israel. Pl suggest if you have any experience- how much time, fare, any trouble on borders, any precaution?
Any suggestion about staying in Palestine or Jerusalem, old towns, We hate all touristy things. We also want to visit few religious sites, Refugee Camps, old villages, local food joints. Will it be more helpful to stay in Jerusalem? Is $2000 for 6 days is good for a middle aged couple?- accommodations, food, travel. Pl let me know. Thanks for help

Late arrival to Shiraz by plane
Dear travellers:
I´m travelling to Iran next October. My flight from Istambul arrives in Shiraz at 01:10 am.
I guess I will waste at least an hour to collect the luggage and to go through the passports control, so until 02:00 am I won´t be able to leave the terminal, the earliest.
Anybody knows if there are taxis running at this time?
The hotel where I have made my reservation does not arrange airports pick-ups.
I have made a research in several book guides, and also in the web, but I have not found any information regarding this topic.
Thanks for your help. Madftv.

Hotel recommendation in Aqaba and Madaba
We (two female) just came back from 15 day journey around Jordan and I have to tell you that everything was perfect. The country itself is really beautiful and interesting to explore, but the people makes it unforgettable.
I have to say BIG thank you to Darna Village in Aqaba (12km south from Aqaba). We stayed there 4 nights and it was more than worth it. The rooms are nice and clean, the swimming pool is great, the coast is 50m away and the sea water is crystal clear and there is no one to stare at you or to bother you. Taxi to Aqaba is 5JD one way. The price was 30JD (for 2 people) and they also arranged (cheap) transfer for us to Amman airport, which took just 3 hours.
Everyone there are so nice and helpful that we felt like we were with our own families. So if you plan to relax, swim, snorkel, dive, eat good and talk to the owners, this is the place to stay. They are so nice,...

How to get from Sheikh Hussan Bridge crossing to Tiberias
Planning short trip from Israel to Jordan. Arriving via Eilat/Aquba but since in addition to Petra and Wadi Rum, I would like to see Madaba, Jerush and some other historical/biblical sites, thinking of exiting via the Sheikh Hussen Bridge. Then need to get to Tiberias to meet up with family.
1. Are there cab or easy transportation to Tiberias on the Israeli side of this Crossing? What should we expect to pay for a cab? Distance/time to Tiberias? How often does public transportation run?
2 Is this crossing difficult?
The other alternative would be after Jerush to go back and cross again at Aquba/Eilat, then take a plane to Tel Aviv and meet the family at the Tel Aviv airport and go together to Tiberias. Would this alternative make sense.
