Accomodation

We´re going to UAE for 2 weekes in november and will book accommodation in Dubai and at Qsar al Arab in advance. We´ll hire a car and travel around, so I wonder if we have to prebook other accommodation or if it is easy to find a place to stay without prebooking other places in UAE ?

Activities in Dubai ?

Hello,

I'm going to stay in Dubai this summer and I wanted to know where is the best place to go for activities such as jet skiing, quad biking in the desert , etc .

I'm not sure if the hotel I'm staying in should help with such things or if its something I got to do on my own.

Thanks,
Walid

96hr stopover visa

Hi there,

I'm traveling to Asia via Dubai, and have a 15hr layover, not nice. I was wondering if its at all possible to obtain a short stay visa upon arrival so I can check in to a hotel and get some sleep.

At the end of my trip I will be traveling back home again from Asia via Dubai, I assume I'll need to apply again for a 96hr visa due to another long layover that I'd rather spend sleeping in a hotel close to airport.

Must this type of visa be done prior to departure or can I just do it upon arriving in Dubai? If so, is the an info desk in arrivals for visa enquiries, etc?

Anyone, please advise if you know the correct procedure.

Thanks
Silvercharm

Viila/apartment for 7 adults in Dubai?

I wondered if anyone has stayed in an apartment or villa in Dubai and could give a suggestion as to a good one. My sisters and I are planning on taking our parents to Dubai for a long weekend in November for their 60th birthdays and would like to stay in 1 or 2 apartments or a villa. There will be 7 adults in total (3 couples).

We have all been to Dubai before (my parents lived there for a couple of years) but haven't been back for a few years and I know how quickly that Emirate changes! I thought Jumeriah Beach would be a good location - would this still be suitable? My parents have quite a high standard of living so I would want somewhere that is clean and isn't surrounded by construction work (is that possible?), however my sisters and I would like to keep the cost under control. Any advice as to a good location or website that can be trusted would be gratefully received.... more »

One or two days in Dubai?

Hello again, Guys!!

I have one flight to Singapore and Myanmar next August and I have one doubt. I'll have two days of stopover with Emirates in Dubai and I was thinking if it was possible to visit Abu Dhabi in one day and Dubai in another. I've heard about traffic in Dubai-Abu Dhabi. I don't need to know all the attractions, just take some photos and hang around the cities. What do you think? Better stay two days in Dubai or spend one day in each one. Maybe in the future I'll have another opportunity to visit Dubai again. And it's better arrive in Dubai and go straight ahead to Abu Dhabi and do Dubai in the end? Seeing that my flight is arriving and departing from Dubai and Emirates have one free shuttle.

Thank you!!!

Dubai airport terminal 1 to terminal 3

We are travelling to Egypt via Dubai mid May. We are flying Cathay Pacific and arrive in terminal 1 at 0600 with an Emirates flight to Cairo leaving from terminal 3 at 0850.
Do you think we have enough time to collect baggage, clear customs etc and make our way to check in with Emirates?
I have read about an meet and greet service called Marhaba which assists you and fast tracks you through the process, at a cost of course. Has anyone used this service or do you think it is unnecessary?

Majestic Tower Hotel Dubai

Hi
Has anyone recently stayed this hotel. I have booked a 4 nights stay in May.
However, I have read several posts about the hotel charging a deposit of 1000 and a 1800 Aed.
If this is true then nothing is mentioned in the hotels terms and conditions.
Many thanks

Dubai to India by ship

Hi,
am Austrian and planning a trip from Austria to India overland starting this summer/autumn,

Just in case the security situation doesn't allow to travel through Pakistan then during this time i am just thinking about other options and can remember that i have heard or read somewhere that there are also ships/dhows or vessels leaving from dubai going to Mumbai in India in about 6 days...
no idea whether this is still valid, has anyone of you heard about this as well and do these ships really also take passengers with them?

Many thanks, Georg.
