Trekking in Ladakh
Hello to everyone,
I´m planning to go to Leh at the end of June and I would like to make a trekking tour (about 5-6 days, moderate difficulty).
Can someone recommed me a reliable travel agency and maybe which would be a nice itinerary as well?
Does someone know the "Ladak eco-adventures"`?
Thank you in advance!!

What’s hidden in the Glory of Incredible India..?
It is summer again, the fun time for all young backpackers. Why not pack your bags and make your feet do the talking with the lands of India?
My blog-story centers around India and Indians whilst foreign travelers focusing to make way for a thrilling, exciting and amusing retreat. This is a snippet from my annual fortnight rendezvous at India when I get a chance to reconnect with the warm people and cultures of this country and so many things - never seen before.
When I first stepped onto the land of India in the May-June scorching summer period, believe me, I was petrified. My very next move - Jump on a Hilly 'Relief' Area. Adamant by nature and having the deep urge to experience every bit of a thing, I was back to the sweltering capital of 'Incredible India'.
From street shopping of Janpath, Lajpat Nagar and Sarojini Nagar (New Delhi) for all latest 'hep' trends to Vijay ...

3 weeks in India in July
Hi,
I am planning to go to India for 3 weeks in July. I was thinking about Dehli – Mumbai (2 weeks) with occasional cities in between, and one week in Goa the final week. Could someone tell me if these are good places to go in July or is the weather too hot/monsoon, etc?

Mudumalai or Wayanad National Parks?
We will have a short holiday in Kerala and will take a trip to one of the National Parks.
I hope to get recommendations to either Mudumalai or Wayanad as we do not have time to visit both - or is it possible on the same 3 day trip out of Kochi?
Thanks
Greg

Andaman Islands or Sri Lanka?
Hello,
We are planning on a 20 weeks-trip through Asia and for the moment we thought about going to Nepal, India, Sri Lanka and Myanmar. Ever since we read some negative posts about Sri Lanka on this forum (mainly about being an overprized -compared to nearby countries- island with lots of people trying to rip you off) we're asking ourselves whether it's a good idea to go to Sri Lanka.
Instead of going to Sri Lanka (4 weeks) we're considering going to the Andaman Islands (2 weeks) and also spending some more time (2 weeks) in South India. (For now we restricted ourselves to mainly Kerala, Hampi and Tamil Nadu in the South.)
Would you recommend going to Andaman Islands instead of Sri Lanka?
Thanks a lot !

Which of these cities in India would be best to live in for two years?
Hi!
My wife and I will possibly be living in India next year.
Which of the following cities would you say is the best choice (to live in)?
- Mumbai
- Bangalore
- Chennai
- Delhi
- Hyderabad
- Ahmedabad
- Jaipur
- Kolkata
- Surat
Decent healthcare, safety, low pollution and good flight connections would obviously be big plusses.
A nice 'feel' to the city would be one as well, and of course the friendliness of the people in it
(some of these parameters are arbitrary of course).
Hope some of you can help make this decision a bit easier by sharing your experiences in these cities...
Thanks in advance!!

Jaipur(pink city) 3 days! More??, less?? or just on the target??
Hello thorntreer's
We're visiting jaipur next week for 3 days. i wanted advice as are 3 days enough to get to see jaipur because we're only planning to visit jaipur from the state of rajasthan (jodhpur jaisalmer udaipur are excluded as we are bound by time) before we make our way down south. should we go with 3 days itself or stay for longer in jaipur. i know we cannot get to know the entire state in just one city but want to make the most out of it.
Also can we take a detour for a day just before we leave i mean is any place worth a day's trip from jaipur?
any help appreciated
thank you.

Itinerary south India Munnar, Wayanad, Ooty
Next August we plan a trip in South India. This would be our itinerary:
Chennai-mamallapuram
Mamallapuram-tanjore
Tanjore-madurai
Madurai
Madurai-munnar
Munnar
Munnar
Munnar-varkala
Varkala-kanyakumari-varkala
Varkala-kochi (karkidaka vavubali festival)
Kochi
Kochi-allepey (houseboat)
Allepey (boat race)-mettapaluyam
Mettapaluyam-0oty (toy train)
Ooty
Ooty-wayanad
Wayanad
Wayanad
Wayanad-mysore
Mysore-bangalore
What do you think about this itinerary? Are we distributing adequately the number of nights, according to the interest of each place? We have some doubts on how relatively wothwhile are Munnar, Ooty and Wayanad (we would like to do some trekking).
Could anyone reccomend any specific homestay or hotel? Any reliable backwaters boat?
Thank you

Shadipur Depot
I have heard that Shadipur Depot in Delhi is the place where many of the circus performers, actors and musicians live, and do street performances. Is it common to find musicians jamming on the streets? Would it be difficult for connect with a few musicians and ask them to do an impromptu performance for a photoshoot?

Is India spiritual and religion-oriented ?
“ In some ways people had got used to the idea that India was spiritual and religion-oriented. That gave a leg up to the religious interpretation of India, despite the fact that Sanskrit had a larger atheistic literature than what exists in any other classical language. Madhava Acharya, the remarkable 14th century philosopher, wrote this rather great book called Sarvadarshansamgraha, which discussed all the religious schools of thought within the Hindu structure. The first chapter is "Atheism" – a very strong presentation of the argument in favor of atheism and materialism. Amartya Sen
