Has anyone ever done the teacher training program with Sampoorna yoga in Uttarkashi? Just wanted to get some feedback on what it's like and if you would recommend it.
I am considering doing a short trek from Lukla to Tengboche in order to see Everest in April or November and would be grateful if anyone can give me advice on how long it takes and how easy / difficult it is.
My main concern is that I am not very good with heights (but only when walking along a narrow path), but, I did manage to get as far as the base camp side of the Chomrong steps when I tried to do the Annapurna base camp a few years back.
Thinking about it, if anyone can give me advice on how easy / difficult Everest base camp is, I would be very grateful.
All the best,

We arrive around 0400 hrs will need a car down to Tagalle with a driver of course. Can anyone recommend reliable cheap operator prefer to have it booked up.
How much should it cost, the resort has quoted around £75 but online taxi outfits seem to want £120 approx.
We are used to long distance taxis elswhere (India, Thailand, Indonesia etc etc. ) so we know quotes for the same jorney can vary by a great deal. We dont need a flash car just safe and clean enough, Reasonable driver etc we arnt to fussy.
Any info contact deals greatfully rec.
How long does a taxi takes (roughly) from Thamel to the airport at noon? And from Bhaktapur to the airport at the same time?
I am planning on doing the Everest Base Camp Trek in May. I just heard about the bomb that went off in Kathmandu. Does anyone have any good perspective or thoughts on whether it is something to cancel the trip over? It is tough to get a full understanding of the situation and how it should or will effect other travelers.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
I've just come back from a month in Orissa and visited the tribal areas with a wonderful guide, Niranjan Tripathy. He speaks excellent English, has a good contact with tribal people (respecting the customs, socializing with the people rather than "exhibiting" them) and is highly recommended. For those really interested in getting an in depth understanding of the region and the various tribes, having a guide is a necessity. I traveled with my husband, and our interests are cultural and an in depth look into the handicrafts (pottery and weaving are the specialties here).
We spent a week with him and it was the best part of the trip. If you want any more information, please contact me.
is it possible to get from Badulla (or even Ella) to Pollonaruwa by a direct bus, possibly express air-con? In May 2012. I've been told there are these regional buses but I don't have some concrete information. If not, does the bus go to Batticaloa (I could maybe then go by train from Batti to Pollonaruwa).
Any suggestions or detailes information?
Has anybody found out if the Green House in Dalhousie has already an e-mail? Or do we have to phone them?
Thank you very much!
Has anyone stayed there? Is it OK?
Today I have just spontaneously booked a flight to Mumbai for two weeks exploring over Christmas this year! What could you see in India in 2 weeks? Taj Mahal is a must for me. This is a taster tour of course and will no doubt want to go back to stay longer...suggestions please.....
My boyfriend and I are travelling to India for 3 weeks in May as the start of our 4 month 'RTW' trip. This is our first time in India and will probably be the only chance we will get to do this sort of trip so are keen to try and see as much as possible. We fly into Delhi on 2nd May and out of Mumbai on 24th May.
Our ideal itinerary would be something along these lines...
Delhi 3 days
Agra 2 days (try to take in Full Moon Taj!)
Jaipur 3 days (overnight train to-)
Varanasi 3 days (flight via delhi to-)
Kochi 5 days around Kerela (either flight or train to-)
Mumbai 3 days
This gives us a day or so lea way for delays etc.
Do you think this is a crazy itinerary to attempt? My friend did something similar last year taking in the North and South but that was through an organised tour so I'm not sure how easy it will be to do ourselves!
Any advice/suggestions ... more »
I need some advices. I am planning a two weeks trip alone in Rajasthan from 21th April to 6th May. I've been reading of how hot this months can be. Did anyone experienced it in this season? Does it affect the trip that much?
I am an experienced traveller and I've been Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand several times, but never during the hot season.
thanks for the tips!
I crossed from Pakistan to Iran one week ago, using the Taftan border.
From Quetta, the train to Iran leaves only twice a month, on the first and the 16th.
Some bus companies doesn't want foreigners because there are many military check post in the balouch desert, and foreigners have to get out the bus and go for some papers filling and signing, which delays the journey.
But the company AL-MECCA (in Double road, Quetta), is OK with it.
When I was in Quetta, I was told that a police escort would bring me to the bus. They came late at my hotel, and then got lost to find the bus terminal ... and I ended missing my bus ! The police man tried to explain it was my fault (!!!), but when I started shouting, he managed to get me on a other bus, even if the driver really didn' want me on his board. So it's maybe wise to tell the cops to be here one hour before the actual ti... more »
