planning to do besisahar to jomsom next april. we will hire a porter, either from kathmandu or besisahar. we plan to fly out of jomsom so what do we do about the porter. ? do we have to pay his airfare to pokhara and then bus back or not. ? not sure , so any comments appreciated.
I arrive into Bangalore late and need a bed for 1 night before flying on from there the next morning.
Close to the Airport would be great. Clean, quiet, safe and under $60 USD please.
Any suggestions or recommendations??
Has anyone stayed near the Uda Walawe National Park? If so could you recommend any accommodation?
Hi, does anybody know the legalities of an American trying to rent a car and drive it in India? I basically want to go from one side of the country to the other. Do they accept the International Driver's Permit? Also: What would be the cheapest way to do this? What's gas like in India? Oh, and I'm already aware of how bad/crazy they are at driving there ... I just think I'm so good at driving that it won't matter. OK, thanks! —Zach Boyer
I am looking at options of buying bag in Australia or in Kathmandu or Lhasa. I biggest consideration is the weight of the bag and warmth. I am a small older woman and get cold easily, so down is my best option. We will be staying in guesthouses most of the time and one night in tented camp - in the month of April. (Tour is Lhasa to Kathmandu with Intrepid Tours.) We have been recommended to keep our bag weight to a maximum of 10kg. Curious to know if it is better to buy from home (Australia) for genuine product, or risk having to buy heavier bag due to lack of time and opportunity to find one in Lhasa or Kathmandu.
Intrepid do give some very general guidance, but not specific enough for my needs.
