Can someone please advise mid range hotel options in and around Taksim please where we can stay later this month and early next month.
Not after anything fancy as long as it is centrally located, decent and around 60-90 lira for standard single room and 80-120 lira for standard double room.
Thanks in advance.
My wife, her sis & mum are currently in Izmir. Their cousin has access to a car. They will pay for his petrol and get him to drive them around.
Can you guys please help by advising day trips they could make that are within 150-250 kms max.
I'm thinking they could make a day trip to the following
Where else would you recommend them to visit in the next week?
Also can you advise some sights & places they can see & do in Izmir itself
Thanks heaps in advance.
I hold a European passport and I will be travelling from Munich to Hanoi via Moscow (Air Berlin + Vietnamese Airline).
The layover is only 4 hours and we are not changing terminal, but we are changing airline in Moscow, therefore, we will need to get our bags and check in once again.
We are not planning to leave the international area and consequently we don't have a Russian transit visa, however, I'm not sure we will not need to go through passport control to get the new check-in done.
Has anyone had any similar experience at Domodedovo and can therefore tell me how it works?
Thanks a lot,
I'm sure that this has been asked a million times, but I've seen so many conflicting responses. Do I have to apply in advance for my Russian visa within 45 or 90 days?

I am interested about trip to Latvia and also my friend from Latvia wants to come to Maribor. So i am wondering which are the best and also cheapest ways to travel from Maribor to Riga or vice versa. Hi, everyone :)
I'm planning to visit Warsaw in January.
I want to take a train arriving at 11:05PM but I'm worried about 10 minute walk to a hostel.
(I consider staying in Jump Inn Hostel which is near Novotel. The site says it's about 10-minute walk from the main station.)
Is it safe to Asian woman walk alone around Warsaw Central Station in night, at 11PM ?
Thanks for your reply :)
I have been searching online and can see that a couple of years ago there were tours operating on mon, wed and fri at 11am in russian only and for the first 15 people only.
can someone tell me if this is still the case?
i need to know what days and times the tours run, where to get tickets and if there is still a limit.
What is the difference between rahat and normal overnight bus?
They are the same price. I am looking at Kamil Koc overnight buses from Izmir or Selcuk to Istanbul. Some departures from Izmir that are "rahat" but the ones from Selcuk are only "normal". I wonder how much better the rahat one is since I'd have fewer departures options to choose from.
Hi, I will be traveling to the Baltic States either in April or September 2014. The weather seems to be warmer in September.
I’ll be staying in the old town of the capital cities as bases and doing day trips. I have about 21 days.
- Are 7 days in each city a good way to go? I’ll be starting off in Vilnius then Riga and Tallinn (flying home from my last destination). I’m interested in history, culture, concerts, architecture.
- Can you suggest any day trips? I won’t be driving and will be traveling alone.
- I’m considering my travel options b/w these cities. The flights are less than an hour and the bus ride takes more than 4 hours. I’ve found http://www.luxexpress.eu/en and http://www.hansabuss.ee/index.php?page=3& on older threads. Do any of you have experience with either company? Is the bus ride comfortable? Air Baltic for the flights?
- I've narrowed down my hotel o...
Hi, I'm looking to do a little trip to Slovenia in May '14 with my husband and baby (who will be just turned one). I have found a 7 day itinerary in Frommers that I like the look of (http://www.frommers.com/destinations/slovenia/688997). I wanted to find some baby friendly accomodation ( could have ability to set up baby monitor in room so we could have a meal downstairs maybe). Also around the Soca valley, we'd love to be able to go white water rafting so would need somewhere with a crèche or baby sitting facilities, does anywhere know a great place to stay that has this but doesn't break the bank? We are planning on doing a few walks so have a baby carrier to do this but can anyone advise if the caves would be suitable with her in this also?
Has anyone had experience obtaining a Russian visa in New Zealand when they are not a NZ citizen? I am currently in NZ on a one year visitor visa. I am thinking of visiting Russia in March when I leave NZ. I will not be able to physically visit the Wellington location and so will have to mail it from the south island.
Do visa costs vary around the world? For example, despite the NZ consulate website saying that the cost of a visa is 70NZD should I expect to pay more since I am an American? When I emailed the consulate they just referred me back to the website.
I could just mail my passport back to the USA but I don't like doing that and I am trying to avoid the excessive fees charged by the processing company the US consulates use.
Just to make it more complicated, I am currently in Antarctica at a US research facility. We fly here from NZ, so I am technically still "... more »
Hi all -- Can you recommend some good hikes (6-12 miles each) near and easily accessible to St Pete's? I'm looking for beautiful scenery rather than culture (which I can get in the city.)
Reading about the three capitals makes me wanna stay forever in them each. But I have only eight days traveling by train from Baku to Yerevan. Where should I base myself the most? Should I just breeze through one of 'em? What is your take on this? What am I missing reading the guides and the sites - they all seem very visitworthy?
I tend to enjoy strange and exotic places the most. Never participate in nightlife, more of a scenery and photo-buff.
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards/Stefan - Sweden
Are there any airlines that fly direct from Antalya to Nevsehir Airport?
