Hi, everyone :)
I'm planning to visit Warsaw in January.
I want to take a train arriving at 11:05PM but I'm worried about 10 minute walk to a hostel.
(I consider staying in Jump Inn Hostel which is near Novotel. The site says it's about 10-minute walk from the main station.)
Is it safe to Asian woman walk alone around Warsaw Central Station in night, at 11PM ?
Thanks for your reply :)
We will be staying in the Jewish quater in Krakow. Can somebody recommend a couple of reasonable priced but nice restaurants in that area.
I'd like to do a bit of Asian cooking and am looking for ingredients at reasonable prices. Are there any good, perhaps Asian run, shops (even online ones) in Krakow?
I know about "Kuchnie Swiata" in Galeria Krakowska and Alma, but they have mostly packaged foods (few fruits and vegetables) and often at rather high prices.
What are the options to go from Warsaw to Wyszkow by public transportation?
The same for Warsaw airport to downtown Warsaw?
I've just booked flights to Katowice and will be in Poland between 24 and 31 Dec. We're primarily visiting as my russian girlfriend has never been to a European city during Xmas and wants to visit the markets (we live in Georgia).
Our plan is to base ourselves in Krakow and visit Warsaw for 2 nights and possibly Zakopane for a day.
I have some questions i hope you can help with?
Xmas Markets - I've been told there are Xmas markets in both Krakow and Warsaw and that they will still be working and in full flow whilst we're there. Can you confirm?
Transport - what form of transport is best to use between Krakow and Warsaw and Krakow and Zakopane? Also, would you advise that we book in advance as it's holiday season? If so, any advice on what website to use or how we book from outside of Poland?
Katowice Airport - is it fairly easy to get between the airport and Kra... more »
looking for peoples opinions on visiting Poland for weekend, split between warsaw and Krakow!
Been to Krakow and though it was really good! not been to warsaw.
Looking at 3 nights and going with the missus, so shopping and xmas markets are a big thing. I was going to just book Krakow but seen that warsaw is less than half the price!
Any advice appreciated!

What’s the best, and quickest way to get from Modlin Airport to Stare Miasto Warsaw. I prefer to use public transport rather than taxis.
Anyone who has been on both sides of the mountains..which would you recommend?
Thinking of a short trip, probably next June....we have to be in Krakow to visit friends, and we will also be in Bratislava...so a few days ''in the middle'' (ok not exactly, but it seems like a nice area more or less between the two;-)
Which side of the Tatras has better scenery/easier access to hiking/trekking (public transport only,no car)?
Which side has a nicer small town to use as a base?
I guess the Polish side is quite a bit more expensive?
Thanks for your help Luc
I'm planning to visit Krakow in January.
I know there's an overnight train from Krakow to Prague
but I think that's too expensive! It's almost $110 !
I want to know if there's another transportation to get to Prague.....
I searched Google and find this
does Regabus connect those two cities?
the site doesn't provide English, so I can't find any information about this.
Thanks for your comments!
This will sound a funny question but I'm off to Poland next week and presently on some medication which is causing me to use the toilet frequently. I'm using he Modlin bus from airport to Warsaw and it says it takes 1.5hrs...does anyone know if the buses have a toilet on them?
Can anyone recommend a nice place to stay in Krakow.? Either a bed and breakfast or small hotel would be ideal. I'm going there after Xmas and am looking for something for myself. I can pay maximum 50 euros.
Just finalising the finishing touches to my Europe holiday. Just wondering if I should book the sleeper train from Krakow to Prague now or should I wait until I get into Krakow?
I arrive in Krakow on the 12/12/13 and I want to catch the sleeper train on the 16/12.
What are the chances of it being sold out if I don't book soon?
At the moment, the price from Polrail is 316PLN for a 6 person couchette which is around $110 AUD.
Is this cheap or can it go lower?
I climbed Kopiec Krakusa today and got fascinated by the Liban quarry next to it.
Is it possible to enter the (bottom of the) quarry? If yes, from which side? Is it legal?
Any particular things to look for in the quarry?
Next week, I shall be going to Warsaw, and a friend and I wish to visit either Treblinka or Majdanek concentration camp. I need to know, without going on a tour, how it is possible to get to either of these places from Warsaw. We would prefer to use public transport, but are prepared to consider renting a car or hiring a taxi if necessary (or if that would be for the best).
