Greetings everyone from Quebec...
Currently I am visiting and will be heading back to the states shortly...Upon my return I will start a new job right away but need to have fingerprinting and background check done prior.
is it possible to walk into a local police station in Canada, as a US citizen, to get that done, or deal with the agencies out there charging $89 and up? Thanks for any info!
I was wondering if anybody has heard of anybody staying at these
Now I've come to realize that these are not affiliated with Bunac (the travel company) but are these guys real or fraudsters?
If not I'll be booking with them when I get there in July.
Seem to have good prices for long term stays.
If anyone has any other recommendations for alternatives that would be most welcome
Hoping to travel to Canada in early October this year but only have 3 weeks.
Will be visiting family for 2 of those weeks.
Would like to do a tour for the remaining week.
I know it's not long, but the family don't know I'm coming as it is a surprise, so I can't exactly ask them to show me around when I'm there.
If I can stretch out my leave to 4 weeks, I'll then have 2 weeks to play around to find a tour.
Travelling to Vancouver in early June and plan on travelling up to Whistler for a few days also. However, we will have just over a week (8 days to be precise!) to get from Whistler to Calgary, and are driving the whole way. Can anybody recommend a route to take from Whistler towards Jasper, and onto Banff? How long would anyone recommend staying in each place on the way to Calgary?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
We will be 4 adults travelling to the rockies with a 15 month old toddler in mid/end May. We will fly in and out of Calgary. We fly in to Calgary in the morning (10am) and out in the evening (6pm) and have 6 nights total - renting a car from the airport. We are flying from Vancouver so not a very long flight. Our thoughts were to drive straight to Lake Louise for 2 nights, Jasper 2 nights, Banff 2 nights and really just see Calgary on the final day before we fly out. Also considering 2:3:1 but would rather not stay in more than 3 different places due to the little guy. I think we need to break up the drive from calgary to jasper each way with an overnight stay for sanity's sake but open to suggestions. I would also appreciate any advice regarding the best locations and weather considerations given the time of year (winter-early spring in the mountains) and accommoda... more »
We are planning a trip to Canada in July and will be staying in Halifax for a week and Vancouver for 5 days. Can anyone advise me on the things to do at both places. We are a family of 3 (10 year old boy) and will have a car to travel. TIA
I am looking to go white water rafting in the Whistler/Squamish area while I am up there in June. Does anyone have any good experiences with companies running out of the area? Price is not really a deal breaker for me, I would rather pay a bit extra for a more thrilling experience.
Hopefully I hear some great replies. I need major help!
Niagara Airbus or Buffalo Airport Shuttle - any preferences, good or bad?

"Affluent Americans take an average of three six-day vacations a year, according to The Resonance Report 2013. This looks like a global expedition in comparison to the 3.8 vacation days taken by the average U.S. worker in 2010."
Wow, 3.8 vacation days? I'm almost embarrassed to say I get 25 (plus stat holidays plus sick days etc).
The US ranks pretty much at the bottom of the list when looking at vacation days. Maternity leave as well is only 2 or 3 months.
With so many poeple working so many hours it's a wonder why the country isn't doing better economically.
june 20-29 jazz festival in Toronto has willie nelson and steve martin in its lineup
I will be flying into Montreal in a month and just unlocked an HTC one X (android) phone from ATT.
Does anyone have any ideas on Sims cards and services if I don't have a Canadian address? (I'm guessing they don't want a hotel address and I'm ambivalent about using in-laws address in Canada)
It looks like cards are offered on Ebay. Is there a place near the Montreal airport where I could activate? Or can I activate prior to leaving (preferable) without a Canadian address and using a credit card from the states.
Hello fellow passers-by; Ièll be in Calgary for Friday and Saturdey night and would like to know if anyone wants to hike or have an adventure, big or small, one day in Calgary. Night out in town would be fun too, just experience something Calgary has to offer with fellow travellers on different routes. I will be at one of the hostels, but definitely online if anyone wants to throw in ideas! I know Calgary slightly, but have not been there for a long time.
I am going to trip to Tofino to watch whales And I need advice:
how many whales you can normally see during the trip? I really they will be very close from boat? From where such a tour is usually started? How long does it take and how far we go?
My buddy and I are leaving in a week to drive from Colorado to Alaska. We have 19 days for the drive, and we'll be camping along the way. We're going to take the Cassiar route, and want to hike/camp in the most stunning wilderness areas.
We're trying to decide on which regions we'll spend the most time exploring, so I'm hoping for some input. I did the trip a few years ago alone on a motorcycle, but had to rush through and couldn't explore the surrounding parks and stuff. Our final destination is Homer.
So... what side-trips or destinations would you make a top priority? Kluane, Smithers area, Bella Coola, Whitehorse region, Southern BC, etc...
