British Columbia/alberta on a shoestring
Hello there,
We are on our last leg of a 6 month world trip and desperately wish to see these places in march but money is getting tight now, does anyone know of accommodation sites that will rent a property quite cheap? We would love to rent a lodge but think this may be out of range. We were hoping to rent a place for less than £300 a week, is this possible do you think?
Thanks for your help in advance
One way car hire
Hi
I have been trying to find out about one way car hire (Calgary to Toronto) ...I can't believe how much they are asking for a one way drop off fee...up to $1000 on top of the hire cost!!!! This could well scupper our plans to drive across Canada, which would be a great pity.
Anyone one out there got any experience of this and any suggestions ?
Many thanks
Stuart

Canada Driving Holiday Advice Wanter...Please!
Hi Folks....
My wife & I are coming over to Canada on holiday in May/June...first visiting relatives in Edmonton and Calgary, then planning to drive down/across country to London Ontario.
Thought we might go down into Montana/Dakota and across.... Any tips????
What are good places to stop along the way ? We plan to take up to 10 days or so...so we don't need to cover great distances every day !!!!!
Many thanks
PS We have driven the Banff/Jasper road few ties and love it !!!!!

Wells Gray Provincial Park BC
I am considering a hut to hut hike in Wells Gray Provincial Park instead of the NPs of Banff and Jasper. I am trying to avoid the crowds but not so much the beauty. In WGPP almost as nice as the local Natl Parks? Also, are there any mineral or hot springs in the area, both rustic and commercial? Lastly, is there anything else I should see or do in BC. Who knows when I will be back.
Thank you all!

Whistler still worth visiting after the Rockies?
I will be visiting Vancouver after driving around Jasper and Banff. Should I still visit Whistler given my limited time constraints in Vancouver and surrounding areas?
Thanks

Road Trip Canada
Hi there,
I'm a 19 years old, currently looking for a travel buddy who may want to go on a road trip through the east of canada during this summer holidays! I'm not completely positive yet, if I'll be travelling alone as it depends on my friends. I'd still be happy to hear from anybody who is interested in going on a road trip with me!
Ottawa-Montréal-Québec City-New Brunswick-PE-Nova Scotia-Halifax-possibly Massachussets-Vermont and back again!
Thanks in advance!!
Felix

Halifax to USA without flying.
Hi everybody,
I checked the internet extensively but seem to be unable to find any ferry connections between Halifax and the USA at the end of April.
Would anybody have a good suggestion how to travel down without flying? Busses or hitching to the boarder and then catch a bus? Private sailing boats to charter?
We would like to travel on to Portland/Maine and Boston.
Thank you for any advise!
N.

Weekend in Vancouver
I'll be in Vancouver, BC for about a week, but wanted to see if there were any refugios or B&Bs someone could recommend for a Fri/Sat night stay, preferably a little outside the city center...
I was thinking about skiing Grouse for a day (timing doesn't work for Whistler/Blackcomb) and hopefully having a place fairly close by where I could stay (no car rental, etc), but maybe still have access to some decent restaurants, bars, etc.
It seems like everything is so close and within reasonable access in and around the city with mountains and nature, but I can't really tell...don't know how efficient public transport is in VCR.
Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Travel companion for Nova Socotia & PEI - June 2013
Greetings from Singapore! I plan to travel around Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island from 14th to 19th June 2013 (possibly plus 1-3 days more). I do not drive and realised that public transport is quite lacking in the region. I wonder if there is anyone who plans to drive around the region during the same period. I would be willing to share the vehicle and fuel cost. I am particularly keen on visiting historic and heritage sites, e.g., Halifax, Lunenburg, Peggy's Cove, Grand Pre, Cape Breton Cabot Trail, Louisbourg and Charlottetown.
Drop me a message if interested.
Forward dated Canadian work visa?
I'm planning to go to the UK for 6-8 months before going on to work in Canada for one year. How do the Canadian visa's work for a New Zealand citizen? Is it that they give you a date that you must enter the country by and you have one year from when you enter? or does your one year start from as soon as your visa is issued.
Would appreciate any assistance on this as I'd prefer not to have to come back to NZ before going to Canada.
Cheers!
Temp Work Permit in Alberta
Can anyone give some advice for a 36 yr old male from England, who is looking for scaffolding work in Alberta.
Where and how to apply for application etc.
Whether it is worth arriving in Alberta and working without a permit.
Whether it is worth arriving in Alberta first, and then applying ?
Any information will be grateful
