The wallabies in my back garden spent half the time squatting around on their back legs and half the time creeping around on all fours eating the grass.
So are their front bits arms or legs?

Hello,
I have just started working in Asutralia on a WHV and I was asked to fill in a form to my recrutiment agency for details of pay. One of the sections was about superannuation and my other friends on WHV have all had this sorted out by their companies however, my recruitment agent said I have to pick my superannuation fund!
As you can imagine I am a little overwhelmed by the choices and all I really want is one that I know I'll easily be able to get my money out of when I return to the UK. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?
I have posted in both the Australia and Working abroad section of the forum.
Thanks
Just wondering if anyone has used Jetabroad to book flights before. If so,were you happy with them?
Thanks.

Hi,
I'm totally confused by the Australian govt website's information on what medication can be brought into the country, and what individual travellers have to do to bring controlled or banned medication in, so if anyone has information, I'd be grateful, as I have to come over from the UK for work for 3 months.
1. My UK doctor prescribes me co-proxamol for pain relief for when nothing else works. I believe it's related to codeine, which seems to be banned
2. I take seretide asthma medication - it contains steroids and I'm not sure if they're allowed.
3. The only antibiotic that gets rid of my chest infections is Moxifloxacin but it's banned to bring any antibiotics into Oz. Is it prescribed in Oz?
For the above the Govt website it confusing over whether I need to apply for an import permit or whether just a prescription from my doc is enough
many thanks
cheers
G

Hi
We are going to drive Sydney to Melbourne return Dec 09. Can you make suggestions of what should be seen en route. Places to avoid? Three days to cover the highlights. Any recommendations for 2 senior YHA members warmly appreciated.
Thanks

My family, husband and a 14 year old daughter will be going to Australia 20th Dec and leave 09th Jan. we will fly into Sydney and visit the Gold Coast, Cairns, Sydney (again) Melbourne, back to Sydney and leave. Couple of things we want to do, see wildlife (nothing heavy/serious) Kangaroos and Koalas and stuff, see whatever bit of the Great Barrier Reef we can, snorkel, laze on the beach, eat, no stuff ourselves on sea food , inexpensive and tasty. Would like to camp as far as possible ( full convenience preferred), and a theme park for my 14 year old. Need to work on a budget, please help. This is our first Aussie trip.

Howdy all,
Quick question... I'm looking at a fishing charter in Melbourne and came across something a bit odd on one of the websites, it has a list of "things to bring" and one of the items is a "fishing licence". Really? If so, is it possible to buy easily? ie online
I no longer have a permanent residence in Australia, (though technically it's my Mum's place in Darwin) nor hold a vic licence any more (UK licence) and will not have any official proof of residency, not for Darwin or anywhere in Vic.
Thanks muchly.
Hi,
We have rent a campervan for 10 days (20-30 dec), departure Sydney and arrival Melbourne. I ve just heard that during this period it 's really difficult to find places available to put the van for the night. The aim of renting the campervan was to be free. Actually, we are belgian and first time in Australia, so that we have no exacl idea where to go and how it works.
Now I am a little afraidabout where to park? Isn' it possible to do wild camping for one night?
Thank you for information.

Hi.
My name is Vince, i'm 27, currently in Cairns.
I'm looking for people to buy a car / van and travel together around australia, and in the outback. I think that it's the best way to get out of the touristic tracks.
The main things that i like : nature, wild, hiking, diving, camping, sightseeing, having fun!
If you're interested, don't hesitate to call me : 0451138318.

This will be our first visit to New Zealand and want to explore the South Island. We'll be flying into Christchurch and then we want to make a loop of some kind. Would Stewart Island be a worthwhile stop for us? We have 2 weeks to tour the island and don't want to be on the move everyday. We love scenery and wildlife and walking.

Hey folks,
I was wondering if anyone had any advice for casual work that may be possible to get anywhere along the east coast of Australia?
A friend and I are thinking of taking a trip leaving Melbourne, possibly as far as Brisbane, but we will need to get work en route, in fact, it's a requirement of the trip since we're both basically broke at the moment.
Anyone done something like this?
Bar work? Fruit picking? Other farm work? Washing dishes?
My friend is also qualified for massage therapy.
We're both musicians.
Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks,
Vin

Hi all
I'm packing my bag again for another trip. This time I'm doing the northern loop of the south Island.
Flying in and out of Christchurch and hiring a car. I'm not interested in whitewater rafting, bungy jumping or ballooning. I want great scenery, wildlife, short walks, a bit of culture (good museums, great little cafes or other places to eat).
I'm traveling by myself and planning on staying in hostels that have single rooms (so its easy to meet people but I won't have to hear them snore).
My plan is: Christchurch, Arthur's Pass, Westport area, Nelson area and back to Christchurch.
A few questions:
1. For my itinerary, what is "not to miss". I will have a hire car.
2. For the first day or two is it best to hire the car at the airport and then have to find parking in the city or just hire in the city?
3. Any particularly good hire car companies,...
