extensions to visas for seasonal work, studying in Australia, extending your stay, Australian citizenship, where to find fruit picking/harvesting jobs (a link from the Working Holiday Makers page) can be found
at this website Tip - use the menus along the top. It's all quite straight forward and user friendly.

Hello everybody,
I shall be arriving in New Zealand in mid-December for three months and am really looking forward to it. I have one slight concern though which I hope someone can clear up for me.
During my travels I plan to visit a lot of the national parks and stay in the DOC's campsites, partly as I enjoy camping and partly to stretch my thin budget. To do this I was planning on buying a car and have since decided against this as its a lot of money for one person and i think i would end up buying a dud. Instead I am tempted by this Intercity Flexi-Card I've heard so much about as it's cheaper and not a backpacker bus.
My question is whether the Intercity buses will be able to drop me off within a reasonable distance of the national parks and camping sites or are these areas to remote and distant from the bus route?
Thankyou for reading my post and I look forward to the repl...

I'm flying into Auckland in the next few weeks, and I haven't had one positive response from any wwoofing hosts. I'm a hard worker ( I got my first job at age eight); I'm a quick learner and I love learning/doing new things. Currently I work as a cook in a restaurant which gets its produce from an organic farm owned by the restaurant. I have a good work ethic- I am punctual and thorough. I've been gardening with my mom my whole life, and have a deep love of the land. I have worked with several reforestation projects, planting hundreds of trees.I blow glass and know how to do some metal fabrication and forging. Plus I'm just a cool kinda guy, I love music, art, laughing and everything outdoors.

Or "smart arse" in plain English.
Anyway - these two large and prosperous-looking Pacific Black Ducks - aka Anas superciliosa - have taken up residence in our Moonee Ponds backyard. They like multi-grain the best. Which is nice. Do you have rather more exotic or interesting fauna at your place?

Hi,
We'll be travelling with babyboy (15 mnths) to NZ for four weeks.
While planning I get some doubts on whether to visit the west coast. Though places around wanaka, haast pass looks fantastic, the long drive along the west coast itself seems a long one (we try to drive only some 3 hrs a day) whereas the attractions seem limited to glaciers (which seem beautiful, though after the ones in southern chile/argentine, doubtfull whether it adds much to the glacier experience, and we won't be able to get on/in them) and the pancakes.
Would it be worth considering to make a trip like the following Christchurch - Oamaru - Alexandra - Glenorchy - Wanaka - and then back via Lindis pass - Fairlie and then up to Kaikoera (and then further to Picton and NI). Eventually picking some side roads into the mountains?
Tnx

Hi,
We'll be travelling to NZ for four weeks, with campervan and babyboy (then 15 mnths). Opposed to our previous destinations, travelling with a baby supposedly needs some more planning and bringing a bit more of relaxing days in the planning. Difficult as there is so much to see.
We will start in Christchurch and deliver camper in Auckland. Most popular places will be suitable for a day extra resting, as one can do some walking (baby on back).
But for those areas where it is less popular, it seems a bit more difficult.
So looking fo some suggestions where to stay an extra day in nice surroundings between:

Do we have any posters from Brisbane? I need some advice regarding transportation, accommodation and good areas for eating, bars etc. Starting work (very short notice) next Monday at Brisbane airport, on the Pinkenbah side.
Very much appreciated, Andy ...

So,
What's there to do?
We've been here 6 months and worked for all of it and will be free for Jan and need some stuff to do. We've got a car so we can get places but what is there to do other than Cott beach, Caversham Wildlife park or penguin island?
I know about the Pinnicles and Margaret River but has anyone found something really good to do that won't cost the world.
We're up for anything!
Cheers

Hi,
I'm looking to do some agri work for three months for my second year-thinking cattle/sheep station (qld/nsw) or tree planting in WA. I just dont want to do fruit picking!!
I've had a look on various sites, but most of them seem to offer the fruit picking positions.
Does anyone have any recommendations on employers too? I've heard all the hideous stories about being ripped off, but also great stories of wicked times.
Any recommendations for cattle stations/tree planting/anything thats not fruit picking warmly received!
Also-I'll be starting in the new year, so not looking at heading into the NT and sweating my life away-though I know a lot of stations are up there.
Thanks :0)
