Ferries in the Low Season - Thira and Mykonos
Hello Guys!
Thank you for your help, first of all :)
I'm going to one trip in March of 1 month in Turkey, Greece and Cyprus. I'll begin in Turkey and then I'll make one short trip in Athens, Delphi and Santorinni and Mykonos. I'll fly from Istambul to Santorini and will be perfect if I can go by ferry to Mykonos. How do you guys think its better? Fly from Istanbul to Athens and there take ferries to Santorini or Mykonos? and How Can I go from Santorini to Mykonos? Can be the inverse. I can arrive in Mykonos and then go to Santorinni. I've searched in the internet and didn't find any schedule of ferries in March or April. I know that traveling to Greece is one adventure when we are speaking of schedules and transportation haha But I wanna one advice to make my itinerary for the best transportation.
Greece isn't the focus of the trip so we will stay the minimum there. 2 days ...

Living in Thailand ?
Though I love Thailand and really enjoyed recent (short) trip, I am curious how do LP'ers deal with living in BKK for months on end ?? How do you deal with the constant "want to buy?" hassle, pollution, corruption and cultural differences ?
How do you deal with the "meh", when one simply does not care anymore ??
Hope you all get what you paid for ;)

Ubud visa extension
I am in Ubud & would like to extend for either another 30 days but prefer to extend for 90 more days. I know 30 more is the deal. Does anyone know a good agent I can work with. I prefer not to have to fly to Singapore to make this happen.
Thank you

Pick-up soccer in Medellin
Anybody know of any pick up or league soccer games that go on in Medellin? Could be any skill level, on pavement, a field, in a gym....doesn't matter. Or are there any organized leagues (possibly that you have to pay for) or anything like that?
Really any insight on a normal guy trying to kick a ball around in Medellin.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Tour Windhoek to VicFalls, start February 1 2013.Need 2 people to join
Hi folks, as part of a trip from Cape Town to Nairobi, we are planning to go on a 10 day tour from Windhoek to Victoria Falls starting February 1, 2013.
We contacted the Wild Dog Safaris folks and they offered to schedule a group tour for February 1,but we will need at least 2 more people to join in this tour, to get the group price instead of the private tour price.
So we will need 2 more people to join on February 1 to get a group price that we can afford.
If you are in that area and interested to join on February 1, 2013 please contact the Wild Dog Safaris folks at reception@wilddog-safaris.com.
You can get all the tour information at this website www.wilddog-safaris.com
Look for tours and then the 10 day Victoria Falls tour. You find the detailed itinerary and more information on the page.
Contact the folks at Wild Dog directly if your are interested
Thanks

Ferry from Tarfia >> Tangeir - in a rental car??
Aloha All,
a couple of surfer buddies and i are flying into Lisbon next week for a surf trip that is primarily focused in Morocco. The ideal would be to rent a mini bus @ Lisbon Airport and take a few days surfing portugal, eventually traveling to Tarifa for the ferry over to Tangier. Question is does anyone have experience taking a rental car over the ferry (FRS)? will the ferry operator care if the auto is a rental? Obviously i am reluctant to ask the rental car company since i am sure they can either elect to not rent to us or charge hefty fees. My risk appetite is probably healthier than most so i am not as concerned with insurance coverage as i should be, i just dont want to run into a road block while trying to board the ferry if the operator starts asking for auto registration. i had a similar situation happen in indonesia and it was an expensive headache.
Buses and...

Best things to do in Bali - what are yours?
Hi guys,
Im off to Bali in 3 weeks - and its my second visit. I love Bali, the relaxing atmosphere, the friendly people and the awesome food and drinks and I have a full week to enjoy! Ahh, cant wait!
Im travelling with my partner who hasnt been - and I am looking for things to do. I've done probably the most 'common' tourist things - the Monkey Forrest at Ubud, Ulu Watu, Nusa Dua, wandered the streets etc. But I am wondering - what are your favourite or most recommended things to do in Bali? I'd love to make a new 'top 10' of things to do this time, or perhaps re-do some of the things I did last year - so thanks in advance for your tips!
Cheers,
Brooke

Learn to surf in Indonesia
Hey fellow travelers :)
We are to young guys (21 yrs) travelling in Indonesia right now, and we would like to learn to surf (none of us have ever tried it before). We are currently on Pulau Weh and don't know were the good spots for beginners are. So far we have found out that Sumatra have a lot of world-class spots, but since we don't know how to surf we think it would be better with a more safe place (not hard reefs and 7m high waves that could kill newbies like us :)
We have read that Bali should be a good (but expensive) place, so if possible in Sumatra that would be the best.
So if anyone know anything about were to go please let us know, thank you! :)
Best regards
David and Sebastian
Tissa to Haputale
Hi,
After Tissa and Yala Safari I was thinking heading to Haputale.
Anybody knows if there is a bus to get there?,
After that we're planning to take the train to Ella and Nuwara Eliya maybe Badulla too.
Should we stay in Haputale before heading north?.
Many thanks, any advise is greatly appreciated.

Costa Rica Corcovado vs Monteverde?
Hi All,
I am going to be in Costa Rica for 7 days and trying to decide on the two location to enjoy. For sure I want to see Manuel Antonio National Park. The deli-ma is what is the second place to visit? Corcovado NP or Monteverde?
I will be traveling with one other person and we both want to see as much Nature as possible. If you had to choose between these two locations which would you choose? Any recommendation on places to stay or see would be appreciate as well!
Thank you!

Ideas for good locations to watch the Dubai Fireworks on New Year's Eve
We will be visiting Dubai at end of the year... Looking for good suggestions on places to view the downtown fireworks from... I am traveling with an avid photographer, so contrary to the popular choice of getting up and close to the fireworks, his preference will be to see the fireworks from a little bit of a distance and from a little bit of a height... Standing right below Burj Khalifa on the ground level, is probably not his preference...
So all suggestions welcome ....
I was looking at the Boulevard cafe Buffet that night for 400 AED per person... but then I realized that this will be on the ground floor... looking for more options that give some distance and some height... We are open to spending upto AED 400 per person, would love to get away with a cheaper or zero cost option, if there is any...
Oh and also, please point out if any of the options will not be kid frie...

Transit visa to stay in Addis Ababa
I will have a one night layover in Addis Ababa en route from Malawi to the UK at the end of this. I have seen other people on these forums have done similarly.
My question is regarding visa requirements (I am from the UK). I gather visas for UK citizens can be obtained on arrival for $20. However, someone mentioned that they managed to get a 'transit visa' for free - does anyone know if this is (still) possible? I think they left their passports at the airport - is this recommended? (I wouldn't feel very comfortable parting with my passport).
Additionally, if I do need to pay a $20 charge for a visa, I have unfortunately spent all my foreign exchange while in Malawi, so have no USD left. Is it possible to pay using Ethiopian Birr, and can these be withdrawn from an ATM before passing through immigration?
Many thanks!
