Next week our family including 2 small kids is landing in Amsterdam and driving north towards Assen. Although its only 2-3 hours drive, I'm looking for an idea for a nice place for a break along our way. Any interesting spot which can include a short walk around and a nice restaurant to have lunch would be great.
Thanks a lot!!!
I'll be visiting Amsterdam in October and am looking to stay in an area where there's a concentration of young, creative types, if that exists. I want to explore and connect with the artists and communities of a younger, more 'underground' culture vs. the more accessible arts in the city - not that they aren't just as respectable, though. Maybe there are hostels in this area? Or maybe once I know what neighborhoods to look for I could search these places on AirBnB? Any tips on getting…
I'm sure that I read somewhere that there is a 300 bus to Haarlem. Now I can't find it and when I search I'm given options of other buses in the 300s where I'd have to change, and I don't want to do that with luggage.
I'm arriving at Schiphol at 8 pm on the 27th - perhaps that 300 bus has stopped by then? I can't find out. There is info, I think, but in Dutch and I'm getting nowhere. Could anyone help please? My actual destination is in Pijntorenstraat, Haarlem.
Thanks in advance
Taking walking tours of a city can be a great way to learn interesting facts about a city as well as see important landmarks. The walking tour that we took in Amsterdam was interesting as it was a free tour where participants are asked to pay the tour guide what they felt was a fair price for the tour that they received. In some ways it forces the tour guide to be more creative, informative, and lively. We are sure that most people pay the same prices as the other paid tours, but you aren't…
I have a 15-hour layover in Amsterdam in August, during the night mostly.
Is it worthy to leave the airport (I mean, in the middle of night, I suppose there is not a lot to do)? Or should I get a hotel?
I've been looking at several of the Amsterdam bike rental places online, but most don't state if they rent paniers etc. for long distance trips. Anyone have any insight on this?
We are a family of 04 (myself, husbund and 2 children ages 10 and 1yo).
We´re going to Amsterdan, rent some bikes and will have 8 days cycling around the country. I´ve been doing some reserach and seems that LF2 from Amsterdam to Brussels will be fine for us.
Although, I have some questions:
- is there nice small towns of interest (culture, nice parks, food markets, etc...) between these two cities?
- will these towns be close to each other?
- any other recomendations about cycling with kids, or…
Hello, I am travelling briefly though western Europe in july and will end my trip in Amsterdam. My flight back is at 9.55am on the 18th. From my hostel being to far north I plan to just stay out till late night/ early morning, then just get the N97 at like 3.00Am.
Does anyone wish to meet up and explore Amsterdam at night/ go to a bar? It will be Monday the 17th.
Im thinking of hiring a scooter to tour around Assen?
Im guessing 50cc could be ridden on the bike lanes? And on any of the roads but not on the motorway?
Do i need a driving licence to ride a scooter?
I have a UK paper driving licence!
