Hello guys, I count on your experience as locals and expats to share with me some very important and precious piece of information.
On my almost 8 years in the Netherlands, one thing that I've never had the patience for is the irritating fireworks madness on the day and previous days to 31/12. I always travel somewhere.
This year, I want to try something new: leave on Saturday 31st and come home on the 01/01. But I want to find some place, preferably in the southern provinces: Zuid Holland…
What is the best way to get to the Portuguese synagogue from the airport?
Also as the Jewish historical museum and synagogue close at 5:00, is it possible to catch a canal cruise near the synagogue and then catch the train to the airport to be there by 8 pm?
Hi, I have an 9 hour layover in Amsterdam and wanted advice. I get in at 12:10 on Wednesday May 25 and flight out at 21:20 I have been before, in 2003. I was thinking about going to the Rijksmuseum since it was having renovations last time I was there. Since it closes at 5 I am not sure I will have time. Even if I did have time I should have a few hours afterwards. Any ideas? Also, is there a left luggage at the airport?
Hi, I'm planning on going to Amsterdam in the start of september, I was wondering does anyone know how much it is to rent a bike each day? And also could anyone tell me how much the bus is from the airport to the centre of Amsterdam?
I have 4 full days to spend in Belgium & the Netherlands in September before traveling to Berlin from Amsterdam on the fifth day.
Any recommendations on whether I should spend any time in Rotterdam and/or The Hague on the way to Amsterdam?
Also, the best way (rail, bus or air) to travel to Berlin from Amsterdam? If I take an overnight train (if available), am I missing any spectacular scenery?
Thanks in advance.
I'm plannig 4 days vacation in Amsterdam and thinking about buying this city card which gets free entries to some places and discounts to others etc.
Since I don't have some carved in stone itinerary (I'm sure I'd like to visit van Gogh and Modern art museum and go around by bike, but apart of these I'm not sure).
If there anyone who has an experience with this card I'd appreciate their feedback.
My boyfriend and me are planning to visit the Netherlands this summer. We want one-two days in Amsterdam. After that we want an active holiday: trekking or bicycling in the nature.
Could you recommed some locations which are great for trips in the nature and easy to reach from Amsterdam? Is it necessary to rent a car?
Best from Maria.
We want to make 5 day biketour starting from Delft to Amsterdam. The plan is to drive by car to Delft, leave the car there and then go biking. We'd like to take the train back from Amsterdam to Delft. I'm now looking for a place in the neigbourhood of Delft Train Station (or another station on the line to Amsterdam) where I can leave the car without having to pay (too much) parking toll. Can you help me ?
