Established by a former sex worker, the Prostitution Information Centre provides frank information and advice about prostitution to anyone who wants it – those in the business, those buying its services and those who are just visiting. The centre’s small store sells enlightening reading material and maps, but best of all is its excellent, hour-long walking tour (5pm Sat, €12.50 per person, no reservations needed), which takes you around the neighbourhood and into a prostitute’s working room. Proceeds go to the nonprofit centre.
The Cannabis College educates visitors on where to find coffee-shops that sell organic weed, tips for having a positive smoking experience and the lowdown on local cannabis laws. You can also try out a vaporiser (bring your own smoking material) and visit the mondo plants growing sky-high in the basement garden (€3 to see them; photos permitted).
