I have just been informed I shall be assigned to a new duty post in Amsterdam and would like to hear recommendations for neighborhoods.
My posting is scheduled to last 18 months, I shall be living alone (so apartment not house) but expect family visits - my children are in their late teens early twenties and are of course hoping the old man sets up in a place that suits them.
I'd ideally like an area with historical character, access to restaurants and bars, but not too noisy.
I shall not…
I'm 18 and he's 20. Like I know there's coffee shops and stuff but as it's for my birthday I was wondering if there were any particularly romantic things to do? Also is it good for going out at night and shopping ? Etc..? If you guys need anymore info let me know , not entirely sure how this all works haga
I fly into Amsterdam, so I want to be sure I have my first hostel booked away. I really want a social place where I can meet lots of people, as that is what I'm most nervous about because I am very extroverted and hate being alone! I also want to be around people my age--not at a place where everyone is much older, even though I know that can lead to some wonderful interactions. I've looked up lots of hostels and seen lots of reviews, but it can be kind of hard to tell what would be the best…
My husband and I are headed to Amsterdam, for the first time, for New Years Eve. We are in our early thirties and are conflicted about going to either one of the club parties, we were thinking Awakenings is our style, or staying outside for all of the festivities near Dam Square. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
Not a travelling query but I know there are many Dutch here, and I hope others may also be able to respond.
I will be starting my undergraduate next year and while most of my university options are in India, US and Canada, my counselor has suggested the University of Utrecht. Some things appeal to me, such as 3, as opposed to 4 years, much lesser fees than US, and the choice of my course.
But I have absolutely no idea of the university's local standing. How is it seen by local companies?…
