Lonely Planet review for Heineken Experience

The district’s other draw is the Heineken Experience. On the site of the company’s old brewery, the newly renovated attraction let’s you take a self-guided tour that’s tantamount to brew-worship. Learn the history of the Heineken family, watch Heinie commercials from around the world, visit the horse stables and make your own music video. In the Experience’s crowning glory – a multimedia exhibit where you actually ‘become’ a beer – you’ll get shaken up, sprayed with water and subjected to heat. Afterward you get to down a couple of cold ones (though we should point out the suds are dismissed as ‘old man’s beer’ by many locals, while being sold at a premium abroad). Allow 75 minutes for the visit, and expect lots of company; come before noon to beat the crowds.

    A commercial diversion, fun nonetheless.

    thirdeyehigh recommends this,

Quite the commercial diversion for a city so steeped in history. It's a grown-up theme park for beer lovers. If you don't mind standing in lines or you're just looking for excuse to skip one more arty/history museum this is a fun place to go . It's even better with beer loving friends. Interactive and techy displays throughout the building mixed with an old factory feel. There's even a little bit of a ride. Oh and if you're a good boy/girl, you get not one but two beers at the end. Smile, you've been to Beerland!

    Cool!

    arc354 recommends this,

The brewery is huge and the tour is self guided, but along the way there is always someone to tell you a little bit of history. They also let you taste the malt before they add the alcohol in. You are able to see what goes into this special brew and able to crush some barley on your own. In each of the old beer hubs (where the beer was stored) there are films and photos from when the brewery was open.

There is also a virtual ride you can take, that teaches you all about how beer is made. The three free beer you get throughout the tour is also nice. Totally worth a visit!
