Europe's first Chinese Imperial-style Buddhist temple is dedicated to Guan Yin, the Buddhist prophet. The ornate 'mountain gate' - an intriguing concept in the narrow confines of the Zeedijk, let alone in horizontal Holland - refers to the traditional setting of Buddhist monasteries.
