If the Dutch are famous for pancakes of meat, seafood and vegies, so are the Japanese. At the continent’s only shop specialising in okonomiyaki (literally ‘cook as you like’), you’ll get yours in a hot iron dish with your choice of fillings, topped with flakes of dried fish. There’s a J-pop backdrop and barely two dozen seats.

    Most people have heard of Dutch pancakes...have you ever heard of Japanese pancakes? Ask the cook or one of the friendly staff and they'll tell you the history of Japanese pancakes. apanese pancakes come in a lot of variations/with a lot of stuffings - difficult to explain, you have to try! Don't forget to go upstairs and watch the passionate German cook to prepare the pancakes! In this cozy restaurant in the Jordaan you will enjoy an intense flavour experience, a relaxed evening, and not too expensive food.
